Ear pressure. Doc sees nothing, tymp is normal. Pressure is only in one ear and is slightly better, only bad during cold/allergies. Should I get tube?
I probably wouldn't: It sounds like your symptoms are fairly mild. I would focus more on treating your allergies, and then use a decongestant if you have a cold as long as your blood pressure isn't elevated. If your tympanogram is normal andyour symptoms are getting better I would hold off on an ear tube. ...Read more
How high does your fever have to be to impact baby development during pregnancy? My normal temp is 97.6 rather than 98.6 taken by ear
Probably above 102: Although prolonged/repeated exposure to high ambient temperatures of saunas, jacuzzis during the first weeks of pregnancy can increase the risk of some birth defects, it is not clear if fevers "impact on a baby development" because of the high temperature or because of the cause of the fever which can be viral or bacterial infections or other metabolic disorders. Not likely: As long as the infection was just in the ear and did not get into your blood/system, and you take appropriate medication to clear the infection, the baby will be fine. Hi i want to know risks associated with ear tags of a new born. Amniocentesis was done during pregnancy and was fine, does this rule out any risk?
Ear tags: Most ear tags are benign and not associated with any abnormalities. One thing i know they can be associated with is hearing abnormalities. Hearing test in the hospital and subsequent one later in life (consult with ent) is important to conduct. Otherwise, no other testing than routine one in the hospital (metabolic profile) is recommended. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I am pregnant with my 2nd child an keep getting pus balls where my ears are pierced. This has only ever happened during pregnancy. What could it mean?
Immune system: When you are pregnant your body's immune system is less vigilant than normal so that you don't "reject" the baby growing inside you. The downside is that you're more susceptible to infections, which is what those "pus balls" are. Stop wearing earrings until you deliver the baby; that should solve the problem. ...Read more
Unlikely to be a pbm: The common low grade temperatures for an ear infection are unlikely to cause any issue with pregnancy. We have more concerns with fevers that are part of a generalized flu or viral infection especially during the first 12 wks(when the virus could get to baby), or were someone to cook themselves in a hot tub daily during that period. ...Read more

Pregnancy related. Why? Thank you
