I have a single bump on top of my mons pubis. Not painful. Could one ever get herpes on this area or could it most likely be boil/ingrowni shave alot.
It depends on how it:
The bump could be a number of different possibilities. If it is painless, then it is not likely to be a boil or infection. I do not think it is herpes as that usually will cause a blister, red spots, itching or pain in the lesion.
Anything deeper requires close watch to see if it is increasing in size over 2-3 weeks. If it is over 1-2 centimeter or growing you need to have it examined by doctor. ...Read more

I have a small blister or a boil on my lower lip. It is painless. Can it be herpes by any chance?
Not necessarily: This could be a clogged oil duct, an insect bite, trauma, a mucocele (which is a benign bulge in the lip tissue), OR herpes. It is less likely to be herpes since it is painless (herpes is usually tingly or painful), but I would have a doctor look at it and possibly culture it to know for sure. ...Read more

Multiple boil like bumps, hard pus filled on my labia majora have been having them since puberty what is this? Could it be herpes if they're constant?
Not herpes: Genital herpes doesn't behave at all like this; herpes doesn't cause "hard pus filled" bumps or lesions like boils. This sounds like severe recurrent folliculitis, or maybe a chronic skin condition called hidranitis suppurativa. See a dermatologist, who should be able to diagnose and treat it pretty easily. Good luck! ...Read more

Above/below the belt: In general, hsv-1 causes herpes labialis (cold sores) and hsv-2 causes anal and genital herpes. But the viruses don't always follow the rules, so it's possible, for example, to get genital herpes caused by hsv-1, especially with an initial outbreak. Hsv-1 would be unlikely to cause recurrent genital herpes, however. ...Read more
