What Supplements Increase Sperm Volume
A dietary supplement, also known as food supplement or nutritional supplement, is a preparation intended to supplement the diet and provide nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, fiber, fatty acids, or amino acids, that may be missing or may not be consumed in sufficient quantities in a person's diet. Some countries define dietary supplements as foods, while ...Read more
What are some supplements I can take to increase the volume of my sperm? I only ejaculate a small amount and want to produce more and thicker.
No such thing . . .: Contrary to what is promised by dietary supplement manufacturers, there are no supplements proven to increase the volume of your semen or increase sperm count. Rather than focus on this single aspect of your health, eat smart, eg plenty of fruits & veggies w/lean protein (check out Mediterranean & DASH diets), and exercise regularly to improve overall health. Don't smoke (or quit if you do). ...Read more
When I ejaculate there is hardly any semen, is there a way to boost sperm volume with a vitamin supplement?
Not really: A healthy male will produce just what his body is to produce. Unless you have some hormonal or genetic problem or other issue, there isn't anything specific to prescribe. The testis, prostate, seminal vessicles and other glands produce a cerain amount at a certain rate. If you have poor nutrition, a multivitamin/mineral may help. Stay hydrated, stay healthy and cut back frequency of sex. ...Read more
May I know the supplements in order to increase the number of sperm and to recover the varicocelectomy incision?
No...: No known supplement will improve sperm production and number although some in the market or online may tout and claim their ability to do so, usually just suggested at best in animal study, but never proved in humans. As to incision after varicocelectomy, what is your concern, pain or size/color of scar? For any of these, talk with your surgeon timely. Best... ...Read more
Male fertility: There aren't any male fertility treatments that are FDA approved that I'm aware of. Your partner will need to avoid tight-fitting underwear or pants. He will need to avoid whirlpools and saunas as well because heat kills sperm. Certain medications like steroids can cause male infertility and should be avoided too. I would recommend your partner see his doctor as well. Good luck. ...Read more

None proven to help: Men who are worried about their sperm and semen are usually trying to have a baby, so may end up buying and taking supplements advertised to help sperm, just for the extra ounce of hope. The uncertain amounts of l-carnitine, vit. E, folic acid, vit. C, or coenzyme q10 that may be in the supplements, along with uncertain amounts of "other" ingredients, have not been proven to help sperm or semen. ...Read more

How to regain sperm in body? In my body there is low amount of semen I want to increase volume. How much time would it take?
Sperm is: Produced continuously. Why do you want to increase the volume? What purpose do you think it will serve? How do you know there's anything wrong in the first place. Don't get your medical information from friends, tv or the internet. Let your body be as normal as it can be. Stay healthy and avoid alcohol/tobacco, opiates/anabolics. ...Read more
I need medicine to increase semen volume, sperm count. Is there any risk to use such medicine for shot time just to increase chance for fertility?
Sperm volume low; is there any way to increase the volume/amount? Low sperm volume when ejaculating.
Low semen volume may be a hormonal issue (low testosterone), or may rarely be due to retrograde ejaculation where part of the ejaculate 'shoots backwards' into the bladder instead of out the normal way. Diabetics and men on high blod pressure medications are at more risk of retrograde ejaculation.
See a reproductive endocrinologist if you are concerned, especially if you are trying to conceive. ...Read more

Hello dr. I'm really tensed about my sperm volume as it have decreased. Few weeks back when I masturbated it was normal but now they are only few drops?
Does the sperm count lower after the first ejeculation? I know the volume lowers but does it effect the count by much? Trying to conceieve.
Not in the longterm: In general, men continue to produce sperm. When trying to conceive, I recommend 2days abstinence leading up to ovulation, then intercourse every 1-2days during ovulation. The idea here is to optimize not only the number of sperm, but also their quality as well as the quality of the seminal fluid. ...Read more
Correctable cause?: If the results are low on two tests, you should be evaluated for a cause. A physical exam along with testing for endocrine abnormalities are necessary. The most common finding would be a varicocele (15%), which can be corrected and may return normal numbers of sperm. Heat exposure (fever, hot baths) can cause this. For hormonal problems, stimulation of sperm production with medicines might work. ...Read more
Yes in some instance: Are you talking about low volume as in total cc of ejaculate or low numbers of sperm? The normal ejaculate is 1-5 cc and if very low can effect fertility. The normal sperm numbers we like to see is 20 million per cc of ejaculate and lower numbers might affect fertility. Also, there are other parameters on a semenanslysis that are important. I recommend you get a formal semenNalysis ...Read more
Varies: Amount of semen ejected during ejaculation will vary widely between men and may contain between 0.1-10 milliliters (note that a teaspoon is 5 ml and a tablespoo is 15 ml). Adult semen volume is affected by the time that has passed since the previous ejaculation; larger semen volumes are seen with greater durations of abstinence. The duration of stimulation leading to ejaculation also affects vol. ...Read more
My sperm count 15 million per ml and volume 3 ml and normal sperm 80% amd motilty 55% is that normal????
Not normal: A sperm count of 15 million, with 80 % normal and 55 % motility is not normal. But there is no reason to despair. While the chances of impregnating an egg are lower, it takes only one sperm to fertilize an egg and conception is determined by many more factors than the sperm count. ...Read more

My sperm analysis result volume 4.5 count 62 million 40% motile 50 % nonmotile 10% slugish morphalogy 85% normal 15% abnormal. What does all of this mean? Is my sperm normal?
Yes, but ...: The values you quote are normal except the morphology value suggests the lab did not use the most up-to-date standard of "strict morphology". Further, there are additional sperm tests sometimes used if you are not achieving pregnancy in a normal number of months. Conception is a "team sport" and the fertility potential of your partner is just as important. See a specialist for details. ...Read more
