Diagnosed before with myoma with AUB. Now with inflammed cervix and inguinal irritation accompanied with lower abdominal pain. Is it an indication of cervical cancer?

Probably not: Myoma (uterine fibroid) is a very common benign tumor and is not related to cervical cancer. The symptoms you are having are more likely related to the myoma than to cervical cancer. If you have had a normal PAP smear within the last 2-3 years, then there is no reason to be concerned about cervical cancer. If you really need more reassurance, have a PAP smear done. ...Read more

20 yr old female pain in abdominal area and in right side of abdomen. Currently have an iud. What can be causing this?

Probably not: However, this would depend on when the iud was placed. The incidence of benign ovarian cyst is increased slightly with the Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud. I was diagnosed with a severe form of bacterial vaginosis. Can it cause abdominal pain and pressure since my vagina has inflammation?

Sometimes: What medications are you taking? Clindamycin or Flagyl usually take care of this problem nicely. Both of these drugs are also available in cream form to be used vaginally. If you are not better in a few days to a week see your gyn. ...Read more

I've been hospitalized with pericarditis this weekend. I have a strong (nerve)pain in my right shoulder even with ascal. Is this normal/associated?

Maybe.: If you have the pain now and it was not present when you were in the hospital, call your doc or get seen today. If it was there before, it certainly could be related. If the pain was controlled before but now isn't, that is also worrying and warrants another call to the doc or a re-check quickly. ...Read more

Have the IUD but recently have backache, abdominal pain, sore breasts, missed period, headaches, heavy discharge and constipation, pregnant?

Check: If you're sexually active then no method of birth control is 100% effective. An otc pregnancy test will help to figure this out. If this is a brand new Mirena (levonorgestrel) then pregnancy would've been ruled out before placement. New Mirena (levonorgestrel) can cause some pregnancy-like symptoms but then the pregnancy test will be negative. ...Read more

Hi, it has been 3 days since I have inserted IUD I have a slight abdominal pain and slight thick brownish vaginal discharge in the past 24 hrs.Isit ok?

IUD + Discharge: One of the properties of the iud is the thickening of cervical mucous; further, after insertion you're liking to have spotting which altogether may lead to some brown discharge. Abdominal pain with an iud early on can be expected, specifically cramping. Take some Ibuprofen for the cramping. Unless you have severe pain or copious, malodorous discharge, i would not worry for the first week. ...Read more

Abdominal pain for the last 4 days now and I am spotting dark reddish brown blood I have an IUD in but i'm in severe pain that is now in my back also

Need to be seen: Several diagnoses need to be excluded. One life-threatening possibility is an ectopic pregnancy. Iuds prevent pregnancies but in the rare cases where pregnancies do occur, the chances of an ectopic pregnancy is higher with an iud. Pelvic inflammatory disease could also explain your symptoms. This needs to be treated in order to prevent infertility. You should be seen asap. ...Read more
