What St Ds Can Be Detected By A Urine Test
Urine is the product of the kidneys, which is produced to eliminate the waste products of metabolism, manage body fluid balance, &maintain acid-base balance. The blood is first filtered by the kidneys, and the composition of the resulting fluid is then altered depending on the body's needs. It is composed of mostly water, and breakdown products from blood cells impart ...Read more
No: A doc can look at you and see if you have herpetic lesions there. Other diseases can be detected by blood tests. Many diseases can be treated by medicines and particularly with STDs both people should be treated at the same time or else they can reinfect each other. ...Read more

My boyfriend recently had a blood and urine test to check his health. Can this test validate if he has an STD or sti? Everything came out negative.
Depends: It depends on what test (s) were ordered--will not find what is not looked for. Stds are tested for with either blood or urine specimen (depending on which std), so is possible. Need to ask him if he knows which tests were done, or he will need to contact his provider for clarification. ...Read more
An urethral swab: Is another method.Get a more detailed answer ›
Not quite: Urine testing (or vaginal swab) checks for gonorrhea and chlamydia, and blood tests are for syphilis, HIV, and sometimes herpes (HSV) and hepatitis B (depending on risks, symptoms, etc). Testing for HPV (with pap smear), trichomonas, and other vaginal infections requires pelvic exam. By the way, STD and STI are the same thing; there is no difference in meaning between the two abbreviations. ...Read more
STD Testing: I do not understand your question. To test someone for an std that test has to be discussed and approved by the patient. You did not mention in your question what the doctor was seeing you for or what tests are ordered. A patient visit has to have a theme or purpose and a reason for the test. There are thousands of tests that can be run. They are all very expensive. ...Read more

Treated chalmdyia 2 negative STD urine tests and complete urine cultureMild burning still should I go for another urine test or the three test enough?
See doctor: See your clinician for followup. There may be a cause not due to infection that is behind your symptoms now. Your clinician can look at the whole picture. A local STD clinic is another option. Hope that helps. ...Read more
Usually no: If you have a gonococcal urethritis (gonorrhea) or chlamydial or other urethritis, there will be at least a few extra white cells in your urine and the physician will want to know why. Herpes, shyphilis, chancroid, and hpv won't show. If you're just getting screened for recreational drugs, no one will look even for white cells. ...Read more
I have had this vaginal burning for months now. I got a urine test, STD test and a culture test everything negative what could this be?
IC: Interstitial cystitis can cause these symptoms. It can be difficult to treat, also called painful bladder syndrome — it is a chronic condition in which you experience bladder pressure, bladder pain and sometimes pelvic pain, ranging from mild discomfort to severe pain. See your doctor, part of treatment is avoidance of certain acidic foods in your diet. ...Read more

Does an STD make changes on a blood and urine test (leukocites, eritrocites. Etc?) my urine is dark but my blood and urine test are pretty normal?

My boyfriend recently had a blood and urine test to see his health. This was not done at a clinic for std's but is it still reliable source for that?

If my uti urine test came out negative. Is it possible to test positive for a uti culture test? Also can doctors see stds or stis in this culture test
Here are some...: Urinalysis (under microscope) of properly collected fresh urine should give an fair accurate indication for bacterial UTI or not, but ultimate confirmation is urine culture with properly collected urine. And either one should correlate with clinical picture and suspicion. But, testing for STD/STI like chlamydia & gono should be done with the first (dirty) part of urine, differing from testing UTI. ...Read more
I went to the Er a few months ago and they took a urine test and found that I had a Uti, if I had an std at the time would it show up?
When you do a urine test for std at a hospital and they say 7 days can it be completed in a shorter time or will it be the full 7 days?
Itch w/urine test negative for stds on many test, doc says possible allergy as it occurs only after drinking diet soda, is this possible?
Yeast?: STDs rarely cause urethral itching in men, no surprise standard STD tests are negative. If urethral discharge, consider nongonococcal urethritis (NGU), an STD usually caused by bacteria not detected with routine STD tests. If your diabetes is poorly controlled, maybe yeast (candida). Hard to imagine an allergic cause, or that it really is connected with diet soda. Keep working w/ your doctor. ...Read more
Had a recent std naat urine test and missed the first void, would chlymidia and gonnarhea show up with mid stream sample or do I need to retest?
Midstream is OK: Although first void is preferred, midstream usually is OK. If you were at particularly high risk (symptoms, exposure to known infected person, etc) a repeat test might be wise. Otherwise probably no need. ...Read more
Took one day pill for yeast but now white discharge/odor is back an when I ran a urine test it came back with NIT and LEU positive. Could I have a STD?
BV? STD?: Contrary to what some people say, vaginal yeast infections usually do not cause discharge with odor. The main yeast symptom is itching/irritation. Bacterial vaginosis, an overgrown of vaginal bacteria, is a common cause of discharge with odor, but STDs (gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichoonas) also can do it and could cause positive urine nitrite and LEU. See a doctor ASAP for testing. Good luck! ...Read more
I got an STD test (urine test) after I had sex without a condom. If my test came out negative does it also mean my partner is clean too?
Can lgv be detected by chamydia cerival smear and by urine test? Is a serum lgv L2 IgG IgA IgM accurate at 8 weeks? All stds were neg still symptoms
Extremely rare STD: LGV (lymphogranuloma venereum) is very rare, and in recent years in the US almost entirely in gay men. Few or no cases have been reported in women the last 10-20 years. The types of chlamydia that cause it would probably be detected by standard testing, but special testing would have to be done to know it was an LGV strain. However, a negative LGV blood test proves you don't have it. ...Read more
Can hymen get torn by STD testing? I got contradcting answers.1 doc says a samp from cervix is necessary n 1 more doc says blood n urine test is enough
I tested negative with wet mount and urine test for stds but I have itching on the skin outside of the vagina. Is there a topical ointment yousuggest?
Vaginal "azole": Vaginal area itching suggests a possible yeast infection, which can easily be missed on standard wet mount and STD testing. If you have vaginal yeast, just treating the irritated outside tissues won't help much. Try one of the OTC yeast vaginal creams like miconazole (Monistat®) or any other product with active ingredient ending in "azole". Recheck with your doc if that doesn't clear it up. ...Read more

Does ureaplasma urealyticum infection show up on a urine culture or a pcr std urine test? I had two urine cultures and three std urine tests.
Normal bacteria: It's normal to have U. urealyticum in the genital tract. Once in a while it causes nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) in men, but generally harmless both in men and their sex partners. UU doesn't show up on routine tests; testing is rarely needed except in special circumstances. So nothing to worry about, especially if no symptoms. If in doubt, see an STD or infectious diseases expert. Good luck! ...Read more
