Cervical radiculopathy: Sounds like it could be related to a cervical radiculoapathy. Radiculopathy symptoms can wax and wane over the years causing a variety symptoms including numbness, pain, and weakness. Consider MRI of cervical spine and electrodiagnostic studies of the upper extremities. While a cervical radiculopathy can caused muscle spasms, you typically don't see 'spasticity'. Radiculopathy would be a lower motor neuron condition as opposed to upper motor neuron. Does the patient have increased reflexes and positive Hoffman's test? If so, consider MRI of the brain to rule out a lesion that may be causing these symptoms. ...Read more

Side effects: Folitrax does have several side effects affects the blood cells, liver and kidney. patients need to be monitored periodically for these side effects through blood works. Diff meds : These are two completely diff meds with diff mechanisms of action and totally diff potential side effects . Both can be useful for fibromyalgia (FM). Celebrex is an anti-inflammatory med. More expensive than Aleve but safer on the stomach. It does work well for arthritis pain. Cymbalta (duloxetine) is an anti-depressant but can also help with FM pain. ...Read more
