Even the much-discussed "body mass index" has flounded with the 2013 jama article with "overwieght" folks being healthier & living longer than "ideal weight" folks. Dietitian/wt watcher: If you can't resist food, there almost no chance you're going to be able to lose weight consistently. See doc to rule out other problems. A good doctor, good dietitian, good program such as weight watchers may help. Also counseling can be beneficial. There are weight loss drugs, but only work while you're taking them.
