What Should I Put On My Skin After A Tick Bite
My son had a tick bite. I had to carefully remove it. Head and all and put alcohol to clean, neosporin and itch cream will it be ok?
Simple Care: When our protective skin is injured/opened, then the delicate internal environment is exposed to the harsh external environment. Covering it with a clean dressing is the way to go changing it every other day or so. Avoid scratching. Anti-itch creams help. Also, stay away from peroxide, alcohol, betadine, hibiclens, bleach solutions and other irritating things.See 1 more doctor answer
True tick bites: Are a concern as they can carry infections, so I would get into your doctor and have them removed and evaluated for any possible infection including lyme's disease
Nothing: Tick bites, sites where the tick feeds, are only superficial
Need examination: Provider may consider antibiotics treatment depending on the examination and possibility of Lyme infectionSee 1 more doctor answer
Can a tick bite on the back of the head cause a nearby lymph node to swell up and become bone hard?
Yes, it possibly: Could. I would wait and see if it softens over time. IIf it does not, see a Dr.
Tick bite continue to itch 4 mos after bite...took doxycillin immed after bite "just in case." No other symptoms, no evid of tick borne illnesses or cellulitis. Piece of tick still under the skin?
Good question.: No risk for tick borne illness here. Is there any type of rash at the wound site? An embedded part of the tick would fester a little under the skin and may become a little red and painful until the skin pushes it out or it's broken down. If you have been washing it over and over or scratching it I'd say eczema, neurodermatitis or scabies it possible without any other rash or lesions. See doc.See 2 more doctor answers
Did you remove the t: Did you remove the tick? Was it a deer tick-----a tiny one? Was it deeply embedded? Engorged with blood? If it was not a deer tick, if not embedded yet, if not feeding yet, then nothing to do except be aware of possible tick-born illness during next 3 weeks. Contact your DR if you had to dig it out. Often it is prudent to give a single dose of antibiotic within 2 days.
What does a tick bite look like after 2-3 weeks? I have a round spot on my ankle that is pink and there is dry skin in a circle around the area.
My husband has a tick bite with a really bad burning feeling and black spot under the skin where he pulled the tick out. Could he have Lyme disease?
Deer tick?: Some deer ticks transmit lyme disease. The tick must be in the skin for 2 days before it can cause lyme disease. Doxycycline or minocycline 200mg single dose within 2 days of removal of a tick prevents lyme disease almost every time. Not a deer tick? Lyme is not in the conversation. A local reaction to the tick is common but not lyme disease. If the black dot is part of the tick, your body will taSee 1 more doctor answer
Dry itchy patches of skin on inner thigh, armpits and ankle (not itchy yet). Is this due to a recent tick bite? What is going on and what to expect? Tx
I have a tick bite 6 months old, it still goes through periods of intense itchiness. It developed scar tissue under my skin. Cause for concern?
See below: If you we're treated appropriately for a suspected tick- borne illness, then the tick illness should be gone, but, you may have developed an are of hypersensitivity at the bite and the more you scratch, the worse it may become. The skin may be becoming lichenified or simply scarred as you you described. See you doctor for an evaluation as "rashes" are very difficult to diagnose without viewing.

Do I have lyme? Tick bite 4 months ago. Now feeling achy, loss of appetite, sore joints, slight headaches, depression, head foggy, sleeping weird? Help
Sounds like it: It does sound like you have lyme disease. I recommend seeing a doctor so they can make a proper diagnosis and help you from there.
Tick bite: Ice and Hydrocortisone cream work well. If you are certain it's a tick, you should visit your doctor because you can get a disease from ticks called lyme's disease which is very easy to treat right after a tick bite but nearly impossible to get rid of in later stages.See 1 more doctor answer
Remove tick: Get tweezers, clean tweezer with antiseptic, grab tic as close to skin as possible and pull gently so as not to remove the head parts. Wash area with antiseptic soap. Keep tick to show dr. Most ticks do not carry dangerous diseases and you dr can log on to "up to date" and compare your tick to bad ones.See 1 more doctor answer
