What do you suggest if i would like to know if someone has hyperglycemia, and gets a hemodialysis, is the machine gonna clear this high glucose?

Glucose transport: Glucose (G) has a molecular mass of 180.2 and can diffuse across a hemodialyzer membrane. So if there is no glucose in the dialysate (D), there will a flux of G from the patient to the D. If there is G in the D, the concentration is 200 mg/dl. If the patient's glucose is > 200, glucose will flux from the D to the patient, if it's ...Read more

Is fluid in the ear dangerous? I have had this for a week already. There is no pain. Do i need to see the doctor if it doesn't hurt?

How did you see it: It is impossible to see the fluid in your ear without going to the doctor who used an otoscope to look in your ear. If you have fluid behind the tympanic membrane it is usually an infection in which a doctor would treat. If you got water in your ear while showering then flick it out and do not worry about it. ...Read more

I want to know if this is a serious medical issue. I can't help to worry. The numbing at the left upper quadrant of my abdomen isn't painful. Its as if a blood is gushing through.

Probably ok : There is no specific diagnosis for this, but I would see your primary doctor for an exam. Ask your doctor to check and see if your spleen is enlarged. That's in the left upper abdomen, and is unlikely to be the cause, but worth a visit and an exam. Hope this helps! ...Read more

Normal variant: Duplex kidney means your kidney drains via 2 ureters (tubes connecting kidney to bladder) but a single kidney, usually a little larger than a non-duplex kidney. Presence of kidney infection suggests possible urinary reflux from bladder to kidney. Worth checking with VCUG (bladder x-ray). No doubt on antibiotics (a) for infection & continue to take. Go & consider prophylactic as whilst on vacation. ...Read more

Need new ideas: Forties male 5 years from disk surgery not any better. Disk might have been a "red herring". Up to 30% of people with chronic unilateral low back pain experience pain generation from sacroiliac joints. Find an osteopath who knows how to evaluate via physical examination and a fluoroscopic guided diagnostic block of the sacroiliac joint.
