You can donate sperm. What else can you donate for a profit?

You can donate sperm. What else can you donate for a profit?

Wrong perspective: Less and less places are paying for donations of anything (sperm/egg being a holdout) in general. This is due to concern that "profit motive" may cloud judgment and prevent honest answers to screening tests, potentially causing injury or infection to a recipient. ...Read more

How can boys fertility be tested at home if you don't want to go to the doctors?

How can boys fertility be tested at home if you don't want to go to the doctors?

At home kits, but...: There are at home kits sold in the us that detect the presence of a sperm protein. The sensitivity of the test is roughly that it will register as positive if the sperm count is >20 million, and negative if below. If negative, should get normal semen analysis at doctor's. Could you tell me if we want to donate a kidney - what precautions should the donor take?

Could you tell me if we want to donate a kidney - what precautions should the donor take?

Get checked well: This is taken care of by the transplant center that will refer you to a nephrologist to make sure you are not at risk for kidney disease later. Also, the recipient, who I am sure is known to you, should be likely to take his meds and not use drugs. Or else, his chance to lose the transplant is high, making donation unwarranted. ...Read more

Medical cons of becoming a surrogate mother? Will i be able to use my own ob/gyn for care? Will i be able to have another child of my own afterward?

How can I be tested for testicular cancer discreetly? We are ttc so don't want wife to know.

No proof until biopsy, and most are done through the inguinal canal; not trans-scrotal. ...Read more

Are there physical reasons to wait a certain amount of time before trying to get pregnant after a miscarriage? What are they? How longshould you wait?

Are there physical reasons to wait a certain amount of time before trying to get pregnant after a miscarriage? What are they? How longshould you wait?

Yes: I assume you mean an uncomplicated miscarriage. Reasons include 1) your HCG level from the miscarriage must fall to zero, 2) you must resume ovulating, and 3) you must re-establish a cyclic endometrium. I recommend waiting 1 full cycle after an uncomplicated miscarriage and confirming the HCG has fallen. Many doctors recommend a longer wait, but it seems arbitrary to me after 1 cycle. ...Read more
