Should young babies and children wear masks when the smog is bad in the city?

Should young babies and children wear masks when the smog is bad in the city?

No: It is not practical to try to keep a mask properly fitted on a baby or young child. If a child is sensitive to bad air, keep his room (or the whole house, if possible) air clean by not having dusty items (fabric furniture, carpets, etc.). On bad air days, stay indoors and run the hepa filter. Invest in a car with a hepa filter, for when driving is needed. When traveling, bring a hepa filter along. ...Read more

Also, check your shoe size as this can sometimes change slightly after pregnancy. Ligaments also get looser during pregnancy, so steadying yourself may take a bit more work. ...Read more

My baby will be one on xmas today she got in to the infant ibprophen it was enough for six doses for her a lot of it was on the bed an clothes ?

A 4-5 fold overdose: ...Of Ibuprofen will at worst cause her to throw up, but this is valid only if you are sure there wasn't more Ibuprofen than that in the bottle. Also this is a wake-up call - next time she might get into something more dangerous. I'm 23 & have palpitations daily, getting outof bed, at work, picking up my babies. They're hard & hurt lately. I take welbutrin & drink lots of coffe?

Palpitations: From what you describe you should talk to your doc about this. In the meantime a lot of coffee can definitely be associated with palpitations. I'd recommend getting off the coffee. You should probably taper it rather than 'cold turkey'. Taper by cutting the cups/day in half, then keep cutting in half every 3 days until down to 1 cup a day and see how you are at that point. ...Read more

Adenoid or reflux: He might be having some reflux into his throat or back of nose which is usually worse during feeding or laying down. A large adenoid could also cause similar symptoms. As long as he breathes through his nose, doesn't snore, feeds without coughing or choking, it should be ok to watch. See md if concerned. ...Read more
