I have pcos used meprate tablet for 5 days but had unprotected sex during the usage. Will I ovulate during usage and get pregnant and have miscarriage?

Unlikely: It is unlikely that you would ovulate while on Medroxyprogesterone acetate. However, if you did ovulate, and by chance conceived, this medication would not necessarily cause a miscarriage. It is not generally a medication that we'd give during pregnancy, but if only taken around the time of conception, it probably would not cause a problem with the embryo. ...Read more

Does missing 2 tablets of medroxyprogesterone acetate according to my doctor's prescription would be ineffective? Can't afford.

Does missing 2 tablets of medroxyprogesterone acetate according to my doctor's prescription would be ineffective? Can't afford.

Take your medicine: I am not sure why you are taking this medication. If it is for birth control then you need to take every single pill every single day. If this is for controlling bleeding, then you may be able to skip a pill but you should talk to your doctor about cheaper, long-term options. ...Read more

I was put on provera (medroxyprogesterone) 10mg/10 days to have a period and it didn't help. Its been over a week since my last pill. Why could this be?

Often not enough: That is a very standard regimen of Progesterone but it will not work on everyone. Schedule a follow up to go over the options. Most should have a pregnancy test, thyroid and prolactin tests done. Many patients with pcos will not cycle with this dose. Some need a higher dose and others will need to try birth control pills with estrogen and Progesterone to have a cycle. ...Read more

I had taken the provera (medroxyprogesterone) pill to jump start my cycle-only have had 1 (in June) but have not had another (it's July)....is there a reason why? We are really trying for another baby.

Provera (medroxyprogesterone): Provera (medroxyprogesterone) only works in the cycle in which it is taken. It is unclear how you are taking it. The more important question is why you aren't having periods. It is possible that you haven't had a period because you are pregnant. Do a pregnancy test and repeat it in 3-5 days if it is negative to know for sure. Provera (medroxyprogesterone) doesn't address the cause of skipping periods and that needs to be addressed if u r TTC ...Read more
