Basic anatomy: They are located deep behind the intestines (retroperitoneal). From the back, they are blanketed by multiple layers of muscle. See http://education.Yahoo. Note that "kidney pain" does not always correlate with the actual location of kidneys, as in other visceral organs.

Can kidney stones do any perment damage on any part of my body?

Slight chance: If kidney stones are either due to chronic (longterm) infection in the kidney or if they cause the ureter to be blocked, then yes, they can cause long term damage to the kidney. Should I get a tube put in my kidney they already blew up part of it and an 8 still remains this has been 2 months. I have a very painful stint.

See below: Your question is very confusing, but it appears you have kidney stones and the doctor has done lithotripsy to break up the stones, and the stent is to ensure the stones come out and do not obstruct urine flow. Stents can cause irritation. Follow instructions from your doctor.

Why is a transplanted kidney located in the lower part of the abdomen?

Why is a transplanted kidney located in the lower part of the abdomen?

R or L lower quad: The old kidneys are not removed and the transplant is usually placed in right or left lower quadrant in the abdomen. For the transplanted kidney to function it needs to have an artery and a vein for blood supply. The renal artery and vein are usually connected to the recipient's external iliac artery and vein. The urine needs to be transpported via ureter to the recipients's bladder.

What type of food heal the kidneys, and still are part of a diabetic diet?

What type of food heal the kidneys, and still are part of a diabetic diet?

No: There are no certain foods that "heal" the kidneys, generally speaking. As a diabetic, it would be wise to maintain a diabetic diet, control your blood sugars with appropriate medications, maintain a healthy weight (through diet and exercise), control your blood pressure, and also take an ace/arb medication (if recommended by your physician).

Have 2 low grade cancerous tumors already in two separate parts of the body lungs/kidney would the next tumor found and being biopseed be low as well?

The grade: Is not as crucial as the cell type. It says you are using o2. Both lung and urothelial cancers are smoking related. Should you develop a third cancer, having 2 low grade cancers conveys no information about a third. Have you sought genetic testing?

What effects can losing a kidney have on the body-can it cause fatigue, or affect the immune system?

What effects can losing a kidney have on the body-can it cause fatigue, or affect the immune system?

Single kidney: Loss of one kidney should have no effect on bodily functions. You can live a normal life with one kidney. The one exception would be of you had faling kidneys. In that situation every bit of healthy kidney tissue is needed to maintain kidney functions, so loss of an entire kidney could have a significant consequence. Fatigue and even immune dysfunction could occur with more severe kidney failure.

Hba1c for 7yrs (average 9) 2 mnths ago started new med (hba1c 7) if my hba1c become normal will the 7yrs affects my body parts (kidney, eyes) or no?

Hba1c for 7yrs (average 9) 2 mnths ago started new med (hba1c 7) if my hba1c become normal will the 7yrs affects my body parts (kidney, eyes) or no?

Not too likely: The more time your HgbA1c is elevated, the more likely you are to experience the complications of diabetes. That being said, if you can maintain a normal value, you are much less likely to get complications and for them to go away with treatment if you do have them. See your doctors to see if you have them. The very best of wishes.

Advise consultation: Sorry, Medicine is far to complicated to try and give medical advice based on one sentence of information. You may find an online consultation at Health Tap helpful. Voice, video or an INBOX Text consult are best. A text chat is least desirable if you have a complicated question as it's too slow to get an adequate history. The INBOX Text consult requires you to be available to reply to questions

Can the body's immune system fight off a kidney infection? Just curious.

Can the body's immune system fight off a kidney infection? Just curious.

Need clarification: If you're talking about pyelonephritis, an actual kidney infection, then antibiotic use is absolutely essential to management. If you're talking about a urinary tract infection like what most people get, then it depends. Asymptomatic women don't need to be treated but asymptomatic men should. Both symptomatic men and women should get treated.
