What multivitamins would you reccomend to be the best for women in your opinion?

What multivitamins would you reccomend to be the best for women in your opinion?

You are young and: MVI (multivitamin) daily is great that isn't sold in the chain pharmacies or Costco may be higher quality. We can't recommend brands in this forum. So read the labels, and ask your pharmacist for recommendations. A good, balanced diet is even more important than MVI (multivitamin), as many don't even get absorbed from the binders used. So, get one with good trace mineral support. ...Read more

Why do doctors recommend multivitamins if there is no research supporting it increases longevity? I guess there is no research saying its bad though.

People: Doctors are people like you, and are influenced by the large amount of money and PR spent convincing you and everyone else that we are ALL vitamin deficient, and are going to have bad things happen to us unless we buy many multivitamins. But it is all a big scam, like a lot of things in life. If you have a proven specific vitamin deficiency, then take that vitamin. Otherwise, save your money. ...Read more

Do you doctors recommend a multivitamin pill?

Do you doctors recommend a multivitamin pill?

Generally wise: I can't speak for other doctors; I know some who feel they are often unnecessary. However, research shows the vast majority of Americans don't get sufficient levels of vitamins and minerals from diet. Even the AMA advises everyone to take a multivitamin due to research showing they can prevent many diseases. I believe it is wise for everyone to take a quality multi. See http://tinyurl. What is the best multivitamin to take? Does centrum is good? What you can recommend?

What is the best multivitamin to take? Does centrum is good? What you can recommend?

Centrum is ok: I don't specifically endorse any one brand but I recommend a good mulivit has about 100% of the rda for most vitamin components. I see it as a nutritional seatbelt and huge excess percentages can be indicated but you need to have a reason to take then and a professional review it. Some have iron and some don't. In general, premenopausal women can have ones with iron. ...Read more

Does multivitamins taken daily within Recommended Daily Allowance has any side effects? I want to start taking a to z multivitamins and within RDA.

Minimal potential: If you follow the recommendations there rarely are side effects. The most common are stomach issues - burps, abd pain, sometimes diarrhea. If you have a sensitive stomach look for a vitamin that says enteric coated. Try to eat a balanced diet and drink lots of water as vitamins are best when from natural resources.

I'm 25 & just started exercising again for the first time since high school. My friend recommended taking a multivitamin. How do I choose which one?

Many considerations: Good question. There is a tremendous variation in the quality of multivitamins. Some (usually the cheap ones) have poorly absorbed and even toxic forms of nutrients (like synthetic vit e) & dangerous additives like titanium dioxide and artificial colors. Http://www. Can I take a multivitamin and a vitamin D together at the same time? I have always taken multivitamin but now Dr. Recommends Upping my vitamin D

Can I take a multivitamin and a vitamin D together at the same time? I have always taken multivitamin but now Dr. Recommends Upping my vitamin D

YES, a good idea...: The average multivitamin has about 400 iu of Vit D though the new RDA for most people is 600 iu. However, most adults need 5000-10, 000 iu/day to achieve optimal levels of D, which are between 50-80.
Thus, I advise my patients to take at least 5000 iu/day in addition to what is in their multivit. After doing this for a few months recheck levels and adjust accordingly. See

Debatable: There is much debate in the medical community regarding the use of multivitamins. Is taking multivitamin on candida with seborrheic dermatitis is ok plz recommend best one out there? And eating brown rice is ok while on candida?

Forget all this: People eating vegetables and fruits derive no benefit from multivitamins and are wasting money. Candida has nothing to do with vitamins. Brown rice is much better nutrition than white but neither is relevant to candida. "Candida" is not a toxin. It is a NORMAL yeast present in all of us. Yeast may proliferate after exposure to antibiotics or with diabetes. Whatever you believe about candida is wro ...Read more
