What Multivitamins Are Absorbed Best In The Body
Are centrum multivitamins good? Do they get absorbed by the body? What is the best multivitamin brand? Recomendations please
Do multivitamin and mineral tablets actually work? Do they actually get absorbed into the body properly or should I stick to fruit and veg?
Why do you ask?: Somebody else here please correct me if necessary, but I would extremely surprised if this information exists, especially given that each preparation contains many different nutrients each of which is absorbed independent of the compounding. The supplement business is so competitive that each wants to claim (curiously, without having to be truthful) that it offers some advantage. Don't overspend. ...Read more
Is it worth taking a muiltivitamin? Do the vitamins actually get absorbed by the body?? If so, please recommend a high quality, trusted brand/company.
If you eat a well balanced diet Multivitamins are a WASTE of $$$$$$ (except the elderly, pregnant, and ill)
Most multivitamins are absorbed unless there are gastrointestinal problems.
Any recognized brands are OK Stay away from Nature Store "formulations" they cost even more $$$
Hope this helps!

What is the best multi vitamins for body building? I'm a 29 years old guy and I don't benefit enough from my daily meals.
Cheap ones: Every physician on healthtap will probably agree that health & fitness don't come from taking pills. A pharmacy-chain vitamin-mineral tab daily should cost only a few dollars per year. To get bulked / ripped, spend the money on a protein supplement (whey's good), creatine & and electronic muscle stimulator (the latter two if your physician's good with it.) glad you're bodybuilding -- it's fun. ...Read more
You are young and: MVI (multivitamin) daily is great that isn't sold in the chain pharmacies or Costco may be higher quality. We can't recommend brands in this forum. So read the labels, and ask your pharmacist for recommendations. A good, balanced diet is even more important than MVI (multivitamin), as many don't even get absorbed from the binders used. So, get one with good trace mineral support. ...Read more
None: Unless you have known deficiencies in most of the vitamins in a multivitamin, or have a very restricted diet, you will probably get no benefit and may cause other medical problems. If you have a specific vitamin deficiency, then take that specific vitamin. Otherwise, save your money and exercise more. Exercise is better than multivitamins for a person with diabetes. ...Read more
Vitamins for kids: Vitamins are a good idea, particularly to supplement vitamin a, c, d, iron and (depending on where you live), fluoride. There are literally hundreds of generic vitamins for kids available otc and there is little difference between them. What to Look for in a Multivitamin
Read the label carefully. Product labels identify which nutrients are included and the amounts contained within each serving.
Get the basic vitamins and minerals. Most multivitamin preparations usually include the following vitamins and minerals: vitamin C, B1 (thiamin), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B6, folic acid (B9), B12, B5 (pantothenic acid), biotin, A, E, ...Read more

As with all things,: As with all things, moderation is the key. If a person has a very well-balanced diet (that gives him all the daily recommended amounts of the typical vitamins and minerals) then multivitamin supplements don't work, meaning they don't add a noticeable benefit for him. If he is unsure or he lacks enough of a vitamin, then the supplement works, meaning it helps. Too much of anything can become toxic. ...Read more

None: Go to your Doctor to see if you have a specific vitamin deficiency, or are looking for specific support, like for menstruation symptoms or to become pregnant. Then take that specific vitamin or vitamins. Multivitamins are not generally useful and can cause more symptoms than they help. Save your money and spend it on a gym membership. Do chewable gummy multivitamins get properly absorbed as much as regular USP verified tablet multivitamins?
Probably: Not all gummy vitamins are created equal and some are undoubtedly better than others, but they should contain high quality vitamins in a different base than tablets. The fact that they are chewable may increase their absorbability, but I don't know any objective research on their absorption so this is all just an educated guess. ...Read more
When is the best time to take in multivitamins? I have work at 3am-12nn and school at 1pm-6pm. I am taking enervon caps.
Early or mid-day: Multivits (esp. B vitamins) tend to give energy so it is best to take them relatively early in the day. You might take it before work or before school- when do you need more energy? You could try it at both times to see if taking it at one time helps you more than at the other time. It's generally good to take with food, as some vits are better absorbed with food & it will minimize stomach upset. ...Read more
