Habit?: Could this be a habit? why do you need to do this?How long have you been doing this.? If there is pain then you should see your primary care doc or possibly an ortho. When ever i move my wrist, it cracks and it hurts. it only happens in my right wrist and it has been happening for a while. should i get it checked?
My wrist makes a very loud crack/clunk noise whenever I move it clockwise or anti-clockwise, also when I move it up down, side to side. Like grinding?
Typically this sound: is generated when a little tendon or other structure in the complex wrist joint shifts around a bone. This is more common in some with unique anatomy or as a result of injury, perhaps not recognized. If there is no pain or restricted motion it is probably fine to just watch it. I guess I slept on my wrist wrong last night and at some point I woke up and cracked it, and now it hurts pretty bad, what happened? What should I do?
Wrist pain; rest it: If you are young and healthy, your body will heal itself if you give it time. This is a soft-tissue problem (ie you strained a tendon or ligament). Just rest it for a couple days. Limit keyboard time, writing, lifting with that hand. Consider taking some ibuprofen (600 mg every 6 hrs). Don't smoke - that slows down healing. ...Read more

Physical exam first: An exam by your doctor is the first place to start. S/he may order an Xray if there is concern for a fracture. If the Xray is clear you may have a problem with your cartilage that only an MRI can see. Don't ignore this, because gymnastics shouldn't be painful.
