What Makes Appendix Go Bad
Unknown: A common element for many cases of appendicitis is obstruction of the opening, through which it connects with the rest of the intestinal tract (we often find stone-like material upstream from rupture points);however, this is not a universal finding nor do we understand why these appendicoliths form. My guess is that there are many factors that contribute to it developing considering how common it is. ...Read more
The appendix is a piece of tubing located at the bottom of the colon on the right lower part of the abdomen. It has no known function in modern humans, but was thought to possibly be a type of extra stomach back in our cavepeople days. Currently it's only purpose is to get infected ...Read more
Appendix removed 5day ago. When I lay on my left side I get sharp pain on my right side. Comes and goes. Hurts bad at times. Normal?
I assume: You mean swelling the right lower abdomen. Often this could be a symptom of bowel gas or constipation. If there is pain, tenderness, nausea, vomiting, fever, loss of appetite, etc. Then appendicitis can cause those symptoms. However, if it just feels a little puffy in the right lower abdomen it likely isn't appendicitis. See a doctor if you remain concerned. ...Read more

Depends: If your appendix is not ruptured, you should be able to go home the next day. If ruptured, you will likely require multiple days of IV antibiotics and days in the hospital. Some patients, if done laparoscopically and their appendix is not ruptured, can go home the same day. ...Read more
Does calcified appendicolith in appendix go away or just keep building up tell your appendix goes bad?
Good question.: It will not go away by itself. It does not require treatment unless you get appendicitis. And there is no known treatment. Not all appendicoliths result in appendicits, but no one knows how many. No one knows what fraction of acute appendicitis patients have appendicoliths (just that it is higher than normal) or how many patients with appendicoliths eventually develop appendicitis. ...Read more
In appendicitis, would a burst appendix initially lead to milder pain only then to get bad again?
Yes: That's how it happens sometimes. There is an abscess in the appendix, and it grows bigger, swelling and causing pain. Then the abscess leaks out of the appendix and the pressure inside decreases (called a burst appendix), causing less pain. The infection now is in the general abdominal area and will grow, thus needing treatment to avoid death in some hours or days. ...Read more
Separate issues: If you have a "bad appendix and liver" then you should take appropriate actions to help yourself and smoking weed is not one of the things that you should be doing. See a specialist in liver diseases and he/she can hopefully get you pointed in the right direction. Not dealing with a bad appendix (ie surgery) and bad liver can possibly lead to very dangerous consequences in the future. ...Read more

I had my appendix removed 4 months ago and I still have bad pain in my side when I move. Do you have an idea what it could be? The hospital didn't know
Just a thought:
But if your appendicitis was diagnosed "late" the infection in your appendix may have spread to a local lymph gland which "trapped" it but is still "REACTING" to the trapped organisms.
It should SUBSIDE eventually!
I would suggest an PELVIC MRI if your pain is that "bad"
Hope this helps

What dressing & woundcare are you carrying out at home? Is there redness around the belly button? Do you have a fever? are you having worse pain? Are you otherwise recovering well? Always best to ask to the surgeon who operated on you. ...Read more
