I'm on spironolactone, metformin & lisinopril. Im not on birth control - do those meds pose a risk to a pregnancy? (Not ttc now but it could happen)

Since spironolactone is a testosterone blocker, would that be bad for the body or decreases testosterone level.

Since spironolactone is a testosterone blocker, would that be bad for the body or decreases testosterone level.

Does not lower level: Spironolactone is not a "testosterone" blocker per say. It designed to block aldosterone receptors from being activated. It is not perfect and does have some anti-masculine side effects (gynecomastia). If a doctor prescribed your medication for blood pressure control, prior heart attack, heart failure, or liver disease it is more likely to make you live longer and better than not. ...Read more

If i was taking 200mg of spironolactone when I have my lab work done, would that affect the bun and creatinine level? Would it make it higher or lower

If i was taking 200mg of spironolactone when I have my lab work done, would that affect the bun and creatinine level? Would it make it higher or lower

Likely no effect,,,: This is a potassium sparing diuretic and is a weak diuretic other than this function. This and other diuretics should not have an effect on BUN and creatinine as these are based on amounts in the blood and creatinine is recovered by the kidney and so depend on renal function. Good luck. ...Read more
