What Kind Of Mindset Should I Have To Strive For A Healthy Lifestyle
Hello. I want to improve my health with a heathy diet and an activ lifestyle. What kind of diet and activities do you suggest?
Congratulations: On choosing a healthier lifestyle. Most successful people in this group start with one or two small changes and continue adding. They may start walking or running a bit more each day. They may substitute a salad for a full meal or fruit for a snack. These changes add up and aren't as difficult to track or manage everyday. Mine is less red meat and substituting chicken or fish. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
Doctors always say to have a healthy and balanced diet but what is a healthy balanced diet what kind of foods should I eat am 98 pounds and 5'4 ?
Eat more protein: 98 pounds is a little too slim for 5'4", even for a teenager. Make sure you are getting in 60 grams or more of complete protein (animal source or from soybeans), lots of fresh vegetables and fruits, and avoid foods without nutritional value (like candy, snack foods, white bread). Always eat your protein first if you get full early. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What are some tips for maintaining weight once you've lost a good amount? I'm eating a paleo diet but want to introduce regular food once I hit my goal. I find maintaining to be the hardest part.
Diet: Losing weight is difficult but I believe that keeping weight off is more difficult. Calories do count and if you want to maintain your new weight you will have to restrict your daily calorie intake to about 1000-1200 calories unless you perform extremely vigorous work in your daily activities. I feel it's very worthwhile to meet with a dietician who will evaluate you and recommend a proper diet. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
I don't want recovery, I have a team of workers and a supporting family and good friends. How do I "want" to change? My eating disorder is a comfort.
Motivation: People have both short- and long-term goals. Comfort is a short-term goal. Achieving and maintaining health and life are long-term goals. Select what you "want," overall, by thinking of both types of goals. Often, short-term discomfort allows us to achieve longer term goals. You're in charge, either way. You're fortunate to have people who want to help you achieve your goals. Lucky you! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Please describe a good diet and exercise plan that you would recommend for me to lose a lot of weight?
Diet/exercise plan: A diet is just a plan for eating, it doesn't have to be a weight loss diet. The best documented diet is probably the mediterranean diet, i would use it and limit to less than 1800cal/day. Aerobic exercise at least 30min. A day and make these a lifelong habit. Don't smoke and take care of any disease risk factors with your doc. ...Read more
