It seems that many believe that a "fracture" is a lesser injury or an incomplete break in the bone, but this is not correct. Fractures may be displaced or ...Read more

One time event?: If you did this one time only -- no chance of a problem. If it is a frequently recurring habit, then you might have a problem over time. See the Orthodontist for help if this is a habit. Good Luck. ...Read more

Black eye 8 weeks ago. Got ct facial, no fracture. Saw eye doc. Is it normal to still feel discomfort around the bones around eye? Still dark eye. Why

Bruised Eye: It depends on how your eye got injured. I am assuming you were struck by something. It would not be unusual for the bruising to last for a very long time around the eye, this is common. Depending on how you were injured, it would also be expected that there would be discomfort in the bones around your eye for quite some time. This could last for up to six months in some cases. Get checked again if you have ongoing concerns. ...Read more

Will my doctor have to re-break my wrist? I fractured my wrist a couple of months ago, and I recently found a long and wide bump on it, it feels hard like a bone sticking up. And it is causing me pain. It is not a sist, so do you think it healed wrong and

Need photos: Really need to ask your treating ORS obviously. If the arthroscopic 'photos' show true'boneon bone' changes (outer bridge grade4) then this would be not good. Is another X-ray needed to check fractured bone after surgery & before starting phy. Thrpy? My doctor told me to do p.T. A week after surgery w/o xray

Trust him/her: I can understand your concern but remember the reason for your surgery was to stabilize your fracture. Your doctor must feel confident that this has been done with the surgical procedure performed. Might have even taken an intra-operative x-ray to assure good alignment. Doctors told that I have to undergo for a surgery for surgical correct ion of long bone fracture My qstn is after accident in how much time It will do?

I'm confused!: I don't quite understand your question. But if you are wondering when to get the surgery, discuss the best timing with your doctor. If you are wondering about how long it takes to recover, again that question is best asked by your doctor, who knows how serious your injury is and will have a better idea after the surgery is done, because he will have seen the extent of the damage. ...Read more

Whydo other doctors let other kids play soccer with broken bone and icant like a kid broke his shoulderand another person broke their wrist and played?

Return to play: Depends a lot upon what type of fracture there is. There are many variables such as location degree of displacement age of the injured treatment that is needed risk for repeat injury and the list goes on. Even a fracture in the same exact spot for example a thumb fracture may be treated differently. To an observer it may seem similar but likely it is not. ...Read more

What could be causing my pain in my shoulder? I fractured a bone in my shoulder and the doctors said it has healed. My range of motion has mostly returned, but my arm is still weak and there is a constant pain when I move my arm. It is a dull pain, but it

Regardless: Regardless of the fracture once it is healed you should not be having pain from the fracture proper. The fact that your motion returned tells me that this fracture had minimal to no displacement. The constant pain with activities with weakness is not something that will go away on its own. I have a very high index of suspicion for a rotator cuff tear or a labral tear. Other common problems include loose bodies (fragments of cartilage / bone chipped off at the moment of the injury), an impingement process from a slightly displaced fracture. Follow up x-rays should be performed and an MRI should be performed sooner than later. The doctor may prefer to do an MRI arthrogram if he feels you could have a labral tear or loose bodies. ...Read more
