My 2 year old daughter has a little hair under her arm and gets body odor when she is sweaty is this a problem? Is there a deodorant she can use?

Have her seen by ped: Children should not have body odor or arm pit hair before puberty. This may be a congenital hormonal disease. There have been cases where breastfed children of mothers taking hormones may be absorbing these. Also, if any parent is using topically applied hormones, take care not to let child come in contact with area of application. Have child seen by a pediatrician or pediatric endocrinologist. ...Read more

My Son is 2 and a half years old, His body is feeling hot but there is no temperature. what should i do ?

Temperature: Feeling has not been proven as a reliable way to diagnose fever. If you think he has a temperature, the most reliable way to diagnose it, is to measure his temperature in his bottom. A temperature over 100.4 is abnormal. Treat any temperature and have him assessed for any concerns. All the best. ...Read more

She needs rest: Recovering from pneumonia is often prolonged. Children and adults may be very fatigued and feel weak for weeks to months after the pneumonia. My daughter is 14 and is shrinking in hight, and she has been for a while, she is otherwise heathy, what's wrong?

Possible scoliosis: The only thing that at all comes to mind where an adolescent loses height would be that her spine is starting to bend, a condition known as scoliosis. The bend can be side to side or front to back, and either could lead one to measure "shorter" in height. Have her pediatrician do a very thorough back exam and even consider x-rays if there has indeed been true, documented loss of height. ...Read more

My dad is 63 with diabetes and is getting a prostate biopsy this week. His concern is that for the past month he has been feeling very dizzy mostly when he tilts his head. He is also irritated most of the time now? What could this be?

Multiple things: It sounds like that his dizziness is coming from positional variation, called as positional vertigo. This could be related to fluid in the ear, but other reasons are there. His irritation could be multifactorial- diabetes, possible stress of biopsy, dementia ( age related memory loss). If dizziness persists then he should be checked. Also once biopsy is done then get him checked for rest. ...Read more
