Probably not: Cause of mucus in stool usually secondary to an inflammatory process such as colitis. This could also causes loose stools. Most Ca's are asymptomatic when small. As they get larger they obstruct , bleed and occasionally perforate. Colonoscopy can easily define problem. ...Read more

Possibly: Not sure how long you have been treated with Metronidazole but if this persists after a week or so you may need stool cultures. Many strains of c diff are becoming resistant to traditional antibiotics. ...Read more

I have had loose stools every morning for as long as I can remember. I am a 32 year old woman. Is this ok?
