We have a month old infant who is gassy. We do our best to aggresively make him burp but within an hour after feed, he gets up crying from gas pain. Are there any other remedies?

We have a month old infant who is gassy. We do our best to aggresively make him burp but within an hour after feed, he gets up crying from gas pain. Are there any other remedies?

Some possibilities: Babies swallow air- when they eat, suck or cry. During feedings, try to burp him in between every ounce, or between nursing on each side. Hold him upright (on your shoulder) for 15-20 minutes after feedings to help allow the air to rise up and escape, and not get trapped under the milk. Try a lactose free formula. Try simethicone (gas drops for infants). Check with your doctor if this continues. ...Read more

Very rare to get bile duct stone after surgery. Maybe gastritis or stomach ulcer. Also check with your surgeon for their instructions. Be careful not to eat large meals or fatty foods that may cause pain. ...Read more
