What Is Vit D2 125 Mg Used For
I have vit d deficiency and was prescribed vit d2 1.25 mg (50, 000). What is the difference between v it d2 and vit d3?
D2 vs D3: If you have a choice, use the d3 rather than the d2. The d3 is a more useful form for the human body. There are very technical differences between these compounds. Note that I am not using the term 'more natural' since these compounds are often both made synthetically. ...Read more
Anemic.Vitamin D. 28 Vitamin D2 <4. Was told to start taking 2,000 MG vitamin D. how long do I take for? Is result of 28 severely low?
Vitamin D: Unless you are not Caucasian you only need vitamin D during fall and winter at 1000 units s fsy. Inexpensive at your pharmacy. If you are African-American you don't need it at all. There is a big hype about vitamin D that simply is wrong as we and others documentei a few decades ago! ...Read more
My doctor is prescribing d2 for vitamin d deficiency but I would prefer D3 as I heard it is more effective. My vitamin d level is 12 NG/ ml. ?
You are right: Vitamin D3 is more natural, more effective and stays in the body longer. You do not need a prescription. Take about 5000 units a day for about three months and after than you may reduce your intake to about 2000 units/day. You are deficient in vitamin D and should take D3. ...Read more
What dosage is considered "mega dosing" for Vitamin C? I try not to take too much, currently at 1000 mg per day.
Per consumerlab.com:: ...your intake is pretty high, & the recommended daily intake of vitamin C for adults is only 75 mg to 120 mg, with an additional 35 mg for smokers. Very high doses of vitamin C are known to cause gastric discomfort, diarrhea, may actually increase risk of cataracts, reduce effectiveness of some drugs, risk liver damage (with Tylenol), risk some kidney stones, interfere with many lab tests. ...Read more
Serum iron is a bit low doctor given me 200mg ferrous sulphate 2x per day. Equivalent to 65mg per pill. Seems a lot of iron? Scared to take it.
It is not a lot: The stated dosage given 2x/day is typical and not considered high/much. Many use 3x/day but can't take because of constipation issue. Anemia is more common in menstruating females because of their monthly loss. So, iron deficiency in 22 old guy is a bit unusual. I would discuss/ask doc as to why you have this problem at your age. Nevertheless, 2x/day is not high. Consult doc. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I am currently on 55 mg of Methadone daily. Is it safe for me to also take 12.5 mg of Zoloft daily?? Is this a dangerous combination??
Potentially: Methadone and sertraline both have some potential to increase risk for an abnormal heartbeat. This risk is proportional to the dose (lower doses = lower risk). You describe low doses, but an ECG would be recommended when available to ensure safety. Of course, it's always important to inform prescribing doctors of all other medication one is taking so that interactions can be considered. ...Read more
I take a vitamin d2 125 mg 50, 000 iu once a month along with calcium supplements 1, 000 mg a day , is this enough to treat osteopenia ?
Depends: It depends on if the vit d that you took corrected you vit d level to normal - it also depends on if you are taking the calcium properly (with food, and divided throughout the day). You want to have your vit d level rechecked to make sure you're fully in the normal range and take more if needed. Finally weight-bearing exercise (like walking) is vital to helping prevent/treat osteoporosis. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My doctor has suggested me to take calcirol sachets with milk, as my vitamin d level is very low tell me weather it is suitable for vegetarians or not?

If i'm currently taking an prescription for 50000 iu of vit d2 a week, could i still take a daily multivitamin? I'm afraid of too much vitamin d (toxicity).
Don't worry: As one of the safest substances known to man..Its very rare to overdose. I'm assuming you have a vitamin d deficiency at baseline. I'm not in favor of the 50, 000 unit approach and i see a lot of this in my HIV population. I recommend d3 2000 units a day. Have your pcp monitor your cholecalciferol level. ...Read more
Is it ok to take 2500 mg B12, 250 mg of Magnesium, and a 13.5 gram protein shake one after the other?
Yes, however...: This is totally safe. However, magnesium (and other minerals) are best absorbed on an empty stomach) so waiting a half hour or so between taking magnesium and the protein shake may enhance absorption. Some forms of magnesium are better absorbed than others- the best-absorbed are taurate, glycinate, malate, aspartate and citrate. ...Read more

I was prescribed 50, 000 iu of vitamin d2 for deficiency. Is this safe? I read something about high doses can cause hardening of the organs and death?
Big dose less effect: Many physicians prefer a daily dose of 5, 000-8, 000 iu of vitamin d3. A once weekly dose of 50, 000 iu is safe, but not as helpful due to poor absorption of a single dose of 50, 000 iu. Once 25 hydroxy vitamin d levels reach 60 - 80, the daily dose (5, 000-8, 000 iu) is usually cut in half and the patient followed to ensure the new dose is able to maintain therapeutic vitamin d levels. ...Read more
