What Is Vit D2 125 Mg Used For
My vit. D2 is 21.4 ng and my d3 is 26.3 ng for a d2/d3 total of 47.7 my Dr. Says aok others say now way to low opinions?
Sounds ok if...: Sounds ok for a typical normal person. Testing for 25-OH-VitD2 and 25-OH-VitD3, and then adding the results to get the total vitamin D level, can help the doctor check the source of the vitamin deficiency and the treatment progress. There is debate over when it would be needed to do these tests. Some doctors feel that giving people more vitamin D would avoid deficiencies and avoid doing lab tests. ...Read more
My vit. D2 is 21.4 ng and my d3 is 26.3 ng for a d2/d3 total of 47.7 should I take a 1 a day to get it to the optimal 50>80 and what is reccomended?
No way & values are: Low. Vit D3=what counts &=only common vitamin deficiency in US. 30 ng/ml=bottom 2% US population, 100 ng/ml=top 2% US population. Go for near top: important for Ca+2 absorption, bone strength & several other issues. Multivitamins about marketing/money; not health; thus avoid. Most bang for buck=a quality 50, 000 IU capsule of D3 once weekly, recheck levels at 3 month intervals & adjust as needed. ...Read more
It would be prudent to talk to the doctor who prescribed these. In general vitamin D3 is better than D2. You can safely take about 4000 units of vitamin D3 daily. Taking B12 orally may not work if you cannot absorb it. If you are prescribed 5000 mcg/day that is far more than you need. Let me reiterate, talk to your doctor, if you do not have a rapport with him/her, see a new doctor. Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.

Heart rate reaches 180 spontaneously. Take corlanor to control. Family doc gave 50, 000 IU vit d2 for deficiency. Dangerous for heart?
No: The vitamin d is not dangerous to your heart and in fact its deficiency is thought to contribute to the risk for heart disease. My question is why are you on corlanor and is it actually working or is the HR of 180 happening while on it? It is only indicated in the setting of heart failure and is usually the second line treatment. You seem young to me for that ...Read more
I am experiencing aching muscles. And pain in my left shoulder is this a side affect from taking vitamin d2?

In some cases neck and shoulder pain could be related to your heart so be sure to see you physician. ...Read more

How many IUs of vitamin D2 and IUs of vitamin D3 does an adult male vegan need on a daily basis? Does it depend on his calcium intake? Is it ok to take vitamin D in morning pills and take in calcium in different meals throughout the day?
The Office: Of Dietary Supplements of National Institutes of Health's (odd. Od.nih. Gov) Recommended Dietary Allowance is 600 IU/day for males 19-50 years. As a vegan, it would be difficult to get in diet as principle sources are fatty fish, eggs, fortified milk. It's important to not take d2!
natural vit d3 is essential for our health ; reduces mortality, preventing cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis, autoimmune disease etc. However, vit d2 (a pharmaceutical) has been shown to actually increase mortality! It's commonly prescribed by doctors but these docs are (likely) unaware that d2 is harmful. Most adults need 5-8000 iu of d3/day. See http://bit. Ly/1hc250m. ...Read more

I have vit d deficiency and was prescribed vit d2 1.25 mg (50, 000). What is the difference between v it d2 and vit d3?
D2 vs D3: If you have a choice, use the d3 rather than the d2. The d3 is a more useful form for the human body. There are very technical differences between these compounds. Note that I am not using the term 'more natural' since these compounds are often both made synthetically. ...Read more
D2 D3 and more: Vitamin d2 (ergocalciferol) is a "prodrug" meaning it must be converted to its active form - d3 - to be beneficial. That being said, knowing your vit d3 level can be more helpful. Vitamin d3 levels in the 50 ng/ml range are considered optimal. Remember, sunlight, fatty fish, fortified foods and even shitake mushrooms can all contribute to vitamin d levels. Proper levels ensure proper immune fnxn. ...Read more
I was given vitamin d2 50, 000 units, 1.25 mg to take weekly. I took 2 in 4 days by accident. What will happen?
Nothing, but change D:
This is not harmful- you would need to take it daily for weeks to become toxic. But I advise you stop d2 & change to d3 (available at health food stores) 5000 units/day & tell your doctor, because recent research suggests that whereas vit d3 is very helpful, d2 may be quite dangerous!

I am vit. D deficient level 17 and have been prescribed 50000 iu of d2 3x week for 4 weeks. Could I instead of d2 take D3 in the same amount?
Yes: D3 is actually preferable. Take d3 10, 000 units every day and see if you feel better and if your morning t rises to 97.6 to 98.6. Vit k2 at least 100 mcg a day is helpful to take with vit d3. Vit d3 is lowered by free cadmium which is present when stress interferes with its binding. Avoid alcohol, tobaccco, and sleep deprivation. Eat 6 healthy meals, move through the day manage stress skillfully. ...Read more

A vitamin D level of 29 is not low.
