Every single time after i fly, when i get off, i feel like i'm on a boat swaying. And my body and head are moving. What can I do? Please help.

Light headedness: Try different methods before and during your flight to avoid this light headedness. Avoid reading on the plane or straining your eyes during the flight. Do not eat large meals before flying or during the flight (snacks are fine and so is water). Sitting near the wings of the plane are usually more stable (less shaky due to design). Also, there's meds like dramamine (dimenhydrinate) or bonine. Hope this helped! ...Read more

Sounds: like a middle ear problem. balance or sense of "position" is mediated by nerves arising from the balance "sensors" in the MIDDLE ear. Start with a complete neurologic examination which your PCP (Primary Care Provider) can perform and let her/him refer you to an otolaryngologist (ENT) with the proper equipment to diagnose your problem more exactly. Here in Mass. the Mass EYE & Ear is THE PLACE ! ...Read more

Slight vertigo "On a boat" feeling randomly ocuring in a day for 6 months, spacing out a lot, tense neck & jaw. I have TMJ but dentist said it's fine

Vertigo, TMJ: See your physician for the vertigo. If you truly have TMJoint symptoms and your dentist said, "it's fine", consider seeing another dentist who might have more training and experience in treating patients with TMD\TMJoint issues. Early intervention and treatment is always better than waiting until you have more severe or frequent symptoms. ...Read more

I am feeling dizzy, as if I am on a boat. I keep leaning to the left, though nothing is numb, everything is working. I feel sick to my stomach because of the being on a boat feeling.

Vertigo: Tawni, your inner ear is acting up probably due to an condition called labyrinthitis. It's a horrible feeling and it might last for awhile. You are leaning because it is only happening on one side. Best to see a clinician to be sure that there is nothing else. Usual treatment is to try to keep your head still and just recline to 45 degrees to sleep. Try Meclizine, an OTC motion sickness med. ...Read more
