5 weeks pregnant I am taking folvite (folic acid) 5 mg before and after I got pregnant. Is this dose too much? If yes should I reduce? And will that harm my baby?
Maybe: That is a high dose of folic acid. I'm assuming that a doctor recommended that dose? There are definitely times when women should take higher doses of folic acid, such as history of neural tube defect, history of seizures, on anti-seizure medication, multiple gestation. I would speak with your doc to understand why such a high dose. Or, if you're worried, you can drop to 1mg a day. ...Read more
Folvite (folic acid) 5 mg intake reduces the chances of hypothyroid getting normal? Because I take eltroxin 100 mcg at 7 am. Because we are ttc.
My TSH is > 100 and WBC is 9300 and currently on eltroxin 100mcg can I take folvite (folic acid) 5 mg after 7 hrs. Will folic increase my WBC affect my hypothyroid?
Yes, probably no: Yes, no problem taking folvite, (folic acid) though I don't know if it will affect your WBC or thyroid. Your WBC is normal, though is a bit on the higher side which may indicate an acute infection- but it can change a great deal day to day. Eltroxin may not be enough- many people need liothyronine as well. Make sure your free T3 gets into the upper half of the normal range. You may benefit from taking iodine. ...Read more

Oligomenorrhea: Pcos is a hard disease to deal with and you need to be in close contact with a doctor who will monitor your weight, metabolic health, and discuss the regularity of your periods. You need to have regular periods in order to get pregnant naturally and I wouldn't give up on your chances unless you've been trying for a full year, meaning timed, unprotected sex. ...Read more

Hard to tell: If a woman ovulates, and has no other gynecologic or fertility problems, then she "can" get pregnant. But, it can be hard to tell if a woman is pregnant because some of the symptoms seen in early pregnancy can also happen in non-pregnant women.
