What Is The Result Of Ultrasound For Pregnancy In Molar Pregnancy
How common are partial molar pregnancies among Caucasians? Can they be picked up on a an ultrasound at 5 weeks gestation? Possible signs?
1:1500: The incidence of a molar pregnancy is about 1 in 1500. If you've previously had a molar pregnancy, its about 1 in 150. In early pregnancy, the symptoms are much the same as a normal pregnancy. Sometimes you can have spotting or more severe nausea and vomiting. U/S at 5 weeks is not always reliable for ruling out molar pregnancy. Best wishes! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
A molar pregnancy, or hydatidiform mole, is a rare mass or growth that forms inside the uterus at the beginning of a pregnancy. It is a type of gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD). After treatment, serum HCG levels will be followed. It is important to avoid pregnancy and to use a reliable contraceptive for 6 - 12 months after treatment for a molar pregnancy. This allows for accurate testing to be sure that the abnormal tissue does not return. Women who get pregnant too soon after a molar pregnancy have a greater risk ...Read more
I just had a sonogram at 6 weeks 2 days pregnant and the tech said I had a corpus luteum cyst on my ovary. What is this? Is it normal? Especially, if I have had a miscarriage (due to a partial molar pregnancy) and one healthy baby.?
Hi, I just want to ask about the ultrasound for pregnancy. Is it possible to determine in ultrasound how old the baby is inside?
With great precision: An early ultrasound is the most precise (+/- 3-5 days until 8 weeks) in the determination of the due date and therefore the fetal age. This declines to +/-5-7 days @8-12 weeks +/-7-10 days @13-23 weeks +/-10-14 days @24-28 weeks +/-14-17 days @29-32 weeks and +/- 17-21 days thereafter. Due to the biological variation of the ovulation date ultrasound <24 weeks is more reliable than last period! ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
My first ultrasound for pregnancy doc told me there is a nondevelop sac of 4 weeks shd b 6 weeks i went through hCG level its in rang of 5to 6 weeks.
Does having a tipped uterus affect ultrasound for pregnancy? At 4 weeks conception would the dr. See anything?
Not really, heart: "tipping" of uterus is how uterus points inside body and doesnt affect pregnancy. It may affect ability of ultrasound to see early in the pregnancy but minimally so. For example, if your uterus is retroverted (pointed to the back) it may make it a little harder for ultrasound to see as uterus is farther from the probe (particularly if theres bowel in the way as well). Can see sac, heart beat. ...Read more
Dr if my b hcg in increasing in 36 hours does it means I'm having molar pregnancy? Im 5 weeks 2 days and result is 3222. Seems normal but 36 hours!!
Not usually: Molar pregnancies are abnormal pregnancies that act almost like cancers. They require treatment with a d & c, sometimes with chemotherapy and very rarely with hysterectomy. Because the marker for molar pregnancy is the same hormone, hcg, that makes + pregnancy tests, women are recommended to wait for about 6 months before getting pregnant again. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Been having vaginal bleeding for 27 days straight what can be the cause? Im on birth control, pregnancy test negative, waiting on sonogram results
Hormonal abnormality: The causes of dysfunctional uterine bleeding are either hormonal or structural (like a fibroid). At your age I would strongly suspect a hormonal problem and not a fibroid. The ultrasound will rule out (or in) the structural abnormality. Do you have PCOS? If the ultrasound is normal your doctor will likely run multiple tests to determine what the hormonal problem is. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
The sonogram is a test that looks at body organs with no radiation. It uses sound waves and can give us a 2 dimensional view of organs such as the kidney, liver, heart, and lungs. It can define spaces that are either solid or full of fluid. I can also guide large needles into an organ or near the spine, and can help define the area being cut open. Its a ...Read more
