It is possible: What you did not mention is that neither of you returned to the MD to be retested for chlamydia to be certain that you were negative. Therefore, the possibility exists that either or both of you may have been resistant to the antibiotics and are still carrying the chlamydial organism. Get retested now. ...Read more

Hi iam on antibiotics for chlamydia and I had sex only one time with my boyfriend with a condom on can I still be cured?

Depends: Has he also been treated? It takes a while for the med to kill off the germ and condoms are not a 100% guarantee it won't pass back and forth. You need to both be treated at the same time and hope that cures it before it impairs your fertility. ...Read more

Here are some. ...: Congratulate for gaining access to timely medical care as described. Thus far, it would be most logical and beneficial to bring your ongoing concerns to the treating doctor so she/he may analyze what is going on in you and modify the Rx/ care/ counseling for now and future. Online inquiry for your condition would be less effective and may be confusion resulting in unnecessary anxiety. ...Read more

I absolutely cannot stomach antibiotics it seems, throw up every time. Now I need to treat Chlamydia. Can a hospital do IV infusion of azithromycin?

Probably unnecessary: This probably could be done, but maybe unnecessary. You only need to take a single dose (1 g), and if taken with food you probably will tolerate it OK. And not all antibiotics cause GI problems; other options are doxycycline and levofloxacin for a week; both usually are well tolerated. The top priority of course is for adequate chlamydia treatment, even at cost of nausea for a day or two. ...Read more

Can I get treated again for chlamydia the next day after taking the antibiotics if I had contact again?

Can I get treated again for chlamydia the next day after taking the antibiotics if I had contact again?

Confusing question: Your question is confusing. Do you mean you were exposed again the day after antibiotics, or maybe sometime later. The antibiotics used to treat this problem are often given as one big dose, which attaches to cells in your body and slowly enters the blood for more than a week. (Which is why one dose works). It would cover a quick re-exposure. You can also be treated later for a later exposure. ...Read more

I tested positive for chlamydia, but never noticed any symptoms. Since taking the one dose antibiotic 3 days ago, I've had discharge and itch. Normal?

Eat yogurt!: You can have chlamydia and not have symptoms, but if you test positive you should be treated as this infection can potentially lead to infertility problems if not treated. If you are now itching and having a discharge, you might have a yeast infection. Many antibiotics will cause a disruption of the good-bad bacteria and alter the vaginas ph, leading to a yeast infection. Yogurt, Monistat helps. ...Read more
