What is the reason they buzzed my belly when pregnant? Did the baby hear it?

What is the reason they buzzed my belly when pregnant? Did the baby hear it?

For stimulation, Yes: Your doctor may want to assess the well being of your baby by performing a fetal non stress test (many reasons). This test should show the baby's heart rate to increase at least 15 beats over the baseline for 15 seconds x2 in 20 minutes. When this does not occur, sound or "buzzing" is done to stimulate (startle) the baby. If the heart rate increases by 15 beats then > 90% the baby should be ok. ...Read more

Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Painful uterus: Contact your OB about your symptoms as soon as possible. Your uterus should not hurt when it is touched. She will do a pelvic exam to rule out premature labor (cervical dilation or shortening). She will also do a sonogram to see if you have any fibroids which can be painful. She will also measure the amount of amniotic fluid inside of your uterus to determine if you possibly have an infection. ...Read more

My hubby sometimes accidentally hits me in the stomach/uterus not hard but to the point where i get really worried is my baby okay? I'm very worried.

Baby is likely OK: Bumping into your abdomen while pregnant should not hurt the pregnancy. (on the other hand if what you are discribing is related to domestic violence then you should address these concerns with your obstetrician and your local police.). ...Read more

My hubby sometimes accidentally hits me in the stomach/uterus not hard but to the point where i get really worried is my baby okay? I'm very worried:(

OB: Would suggest talking to your ob. Even if the fetal movement are ok, they may have to review the pregnancy with an ultrasound. If this 'hitting accidentally' has been multiple times, would suggest getting help from spousal abuse team in social services or mention it to the doctor you see. ...Read more

I often get constipated...i was wondering if pushing really hard can hurt the baby during pregnancy? Does the baby feel that?

I often get constipated...i was wondering if pushing really hard can hurt the baby during pregnancy? Does the baby feel that?

Constipation pushing: Pushing during pregnancy should be limited to delivery of the new infant not delivering something more distasteful. Increase the fiber in your diet and drink plenty of water during the day to help alleviate your "delivery issue". ...Read more

Im 3 months pregnant is it ok if I feel my baby at the way bottom near my ovaries? It hurts when I feel that.

Im 3 months pregnant is it ok if I feel my baby at the way bottom near my ovaries? It hurts when I feel that.

Like a full bladder: Your baby is sitting in your uterus which is behind you bladder. It is the beginning of feeling like you have a full bladder all the time. You have ligaments that are starting to get stretched out and you are getting a little crowded in there. Enjoy becoming more aware of all the little (and big) changes coming your way. It is an amazing experience so let your OB know your worries. ...Read more

I am 13 weeks pregnant and every time we hear the baby's heartbeat it is in the middle of my pelvis behind my heartbeat. What does that mean?

I am 13 weeks pregnant and every time we hear the baby's heartbeat it is in the middle of my pelvis behind my heartbeat. What does that mean?

No significance: exactly where your heartbeat is in relation to your baby's heartbeat does not really have much significance and can be completely normal so long as it is in your pelvis. as your pregnancy gets larger, the fetal cardiac motion will become more prominent and easier to detect and distinguish from your own heartbeat. Everything sounds about right here, best of luck. ...Read more

When i lie down and my face is up on the bed, the fibroid in me shows like pregnancy but when am up it normal. My question is why that?

When i lie down and my face is up on the bed, the fibroid in me shows like pregnancy but when am up it normal. My question is why that?

Effect of gravity: When you lie down, gravity pulls at the sides of your abdomen, flattening your stomach. You also relax your abdominal muscles. When you stand up, gravity pulls all of your organs towards your feet, and you tighten up your abdominal muscles, "hiding" your fibroid. Also, it is possible that what you think is your fibroid is really something else (abdominal wall hernia). Show it to your doctor. ...Read more

36weeks pregnant and I still lay on my tummy my bump isn't that big even when we have sex I'm on my belly is it possible to squish or hurt the baby?

Unlikely: If you are comfortable, baby is ok, however, it is somewhat difficult to believe that your bump is not in the way, make sure at your next OB visit, that the fetal growth is appropriate for your dates. Best Wishes ...Read more

The hosptil told me I have a bleed in my belly but it's not in the sack where the baby is growing why and how has this happed is it normal?

Not normal: No, this is not a common occurrence and can be very serious, requiring surgery. It can be due to a number of things, more commonly due to spontaneous rupture of surface varicose veins on the uterus or sometimes a uterine artery. Other causes are possible too- did they give you any indication at all where the bleed was coming from or suggest treatment to correct it? ...Read more

My baby is 6mth i just noticed she doesn't flip from her back to her belly anymore she used to do it all the time. Is this normal? Should i worry?

Very normal: She can see less of the world on her belly, so stays on her back to find out what is going on. Soon, it will occur to her that she can creep or crawl from one place to another on her belly, and then she will start to flip that way again. Keep giving her lots of floor time so she can practice the transitions. ...Read more

I'm 38 weeks pregnant and when the baby moves I feel it in my vagina as if he were coming out is this normal?

I'm 38 weeks pregnant and when the baby moves I feel it in my vagina as if he were coming out is this normal?

Yes: Later in pregnancies babies movements can include include pushing there head down into the cervix (like a swimmer pushing off from the wall in a pool with their legs). This can cause a stretching in the cervix and a brief sharp pain felt in the vagina. If I you are concerned about it possibly being labor and not fetal movements you should call your doctor or midwife ...Read more

Is it normal that I get sad and start to cry because of everything cause every little thing hurts my feelings, I am pregnant 16weeks can it harm baby?

Normal: It's normal to feel overly emotional and sensitive when you're pregnant. I remember crying at dumb tv commercials when i was pregnant. Feeling sad all the time, however, isn't normal. You may be at risk for depression and this is something i would see your ob/gyn about. It's common to feel overwhelmed when pregnant. Sadness and crying won't hurt baby, but untreated depression could. See a md. ...Read more

My right ovary hurts during sex it is like an aching feeling when my partner is all the way inside it hurts to the point that we have to stop why is this happening should I be concerned?

Need Exam: You need an exam, it may be an ovarian cyst or even endometriosis. Usually if we can reproduce the pain on exam, we can narrow down the possibilities. Laparoscopy is recommended if a diagnosis is difficult to make, a pelvic ultrasound is also very helpful. See your doc or gyn if your pain persists. Take good care of yourself. ...Read more
