Probably allergy: Nahsea and vomiting can be from a virus you may have picked up during less than ideal hygienic condition surrounding food and beverages consumed whike traveling. Cough (Definition)

The cough reflex is a protective mechanism that uses muscles in your throat and chest to expel mucous and saliva that may contain pathogens that would otherwise possibly be inhaled via aerosol or to expel pathogens infecting the throat and respiratory system. Cough benefits the host by reducing load and benefits the pathogen which may then spread via aerosol. ...Read more

These few days, my throat felt itcy. My stomach hurts when I cough. Sometimes I cough so bad until I almost vomit. What's the reason and ways to cure?

Sounds like: Allergy related cough. Take some otc cough supressant and second generation antihistaminic such as allegra (fexofenadine) or zyrtec from your local pharmacy. In the mean time make an appointment to see your doctor if you do not get any better in few days. I hope this helps. 3yr old daughter throwing up for no reason. No fever, cough Nothing wrong with her. Why does she throw up?

See her doctor.: Gastroesophageal reflux is a common cause for vomiting in an otherwise well child. However, there can be other causes, such as food intolerance, cyclical vomiting, some neurological problems, among others. You should bring her to her doctor for an examination and he/she can determine whether testing is warranted and make the proper diagnosis. ...Read more

Dry and sometimes productive cough for more than 2 months, started after a viral in december. Cough lot more when outdoors. No other symptoms. Reason?

Cough: After viral illnesses there can be inflammation in the lung. This can be associated with a prolonged cough and worsening of underlying asthma. If the air is cold this can cause reactivity of the airway and cause cough in some individuals. Allergic patients with asthma can worsen when 1 or more triggering factors such as a viral illness and cold air combine. Prmg fax 858 259 9689 for rev of record. ...Read more

Hi this is gayathri, I have trouble in dry cough with vomiting sense for past 2 months. And also have cold problem.?

Possibilities...: The possible etiologies for a dry cough lasting 2 months include bronchospasm and airway inflammation, post-nasal drip, gerd or even a combination of these. Each of these has a completely different treatment so you need to see your doctor so this chronic cough can be diagnosed and treated. If you have had a cold, the viral infection can induce bronchospasm and airway inflammation. ...Read more

My son, 4yrs old is having recurrent cough and his skin is itchy dry and patchy. What could be the reason and available treatment options?

Likely unrelated: Itchy dry skin can improve using any moisturizing agent like Gold Bond lotion or whatever similar product you have in your country. Recurrent cough can be related to too many issues to cover in a simple answer. The first issue I would address is any exposure to fumes/smoke/fragrances/dust and similar irritants that can trigger cough in anyone. Reducing such exposures is a good first step. ...Read more

Allergy? ...: This could be due to an allergic reaction resulting in bronchospasm which in turn causes the severe cough. If your family doctor can't find the source of this reaction, perhaps you should see an allergist for allergy testing. In the meantime, the cough can be treated with bronchodilator and steroid inhalers that your doctor can prescribe. ...Read more

Dry cough for 2 weeks then productive cough white sputum then vomiting after attacks of cough then after 1 month sputum contain blood?

Cough: Cough is one of the most common symptoms. One of the reasons could be adult whooping cough (cough with vomiting). The "whoop" is characteristic only to kids not adults. Other reasons can be chronic bronchitis for example. Eventually cough begets cough. I would highly recommend a pulmonolgist to check ur lungs, measure their capacity as well as test your phlegm in a culture to diagnose infections. ...Read more

Cough: You may have an infection like mycoplasma for which zithromax will help. Alternatively could be reflux or post nasal drip from allergies.. Would elevate head of bed, trey zyrtec in AM, and follow up with doctor/urgent care for antibiotics or even inhaler if you have mild reactive airways from allergies. ...Read more

Hmmm: Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and Pepto Bismol. Triptans. Find out what is causing the dry cough. Tell the doctor you are taking Pepto and Benadryl (diphenhydramine). This may be significant. Fluids, humidiity: There are not any good/effective cough medicines that are helpful in this age group. Increasing fluid intake will help, as will using a humidifier. Sometimes a spoonful of honey will help settle the cough. If the cough persists, I encourage you to see your pediatrician to make sure there is no indication of pneumonia (esp. Since he's had fever) or any bronchospasm/wheezing needing different meds. ...Read more

Time for a visit: Most viral infections (colds) should improve after a week. Since your child's symptoms have lasted longer than that and are expanding I would consider a medical office visit. Cough at night may be reactive airway disease and might benefit from inhaled albuterol. There is a mild respiratory infection - Mycoplasma - that can cause mild cough for weeks especially at night. ...Read more

When I wake up in the morning and stand up a lot of times I start coughing and get close to throwing up. What is possible reason for this. I feel like my stomach is hitting the xiphoid process. It gets better in 10-15 seconds and I am fine whole day.

Accumulated mucus: Dear AlmirG, this may happen when at night, your lungs are producing more mucus than usual, it accumulates in your upper airway when laying down, but when you wake up, they stimulate your coughing reflex. I have seen this frequently happening in patient with gastroesophageal reflux, chronic/acute sinusitis or people that smoke. For potential treatment, feel free to contact a doctor via HealthTap ...Read more

I have been sick for a week half w/ cough runny nose and some days fever the past 2 days THE coughing makes me vomit and my cough was wet but its dry?

Well, it sounds like: You have a viral syndrome. I doubt it was influenza. It is not unusual for a cough that was initially somewhat productive and "wet" to dry up as you are improving. But it may be more persistent due to reactivity of your pulmonary airways. This borders on an asthmatic reaction. Continue to rest, PUSH fluids, take OTC cough medicine, and consider doctor visit for bronchodilating inhaler. Good wishes ...Read more

Cough with sore ribs: Try the OTC delsym (dextromethorphan) for your cough or get a codeine preparation from your doctor. The rib pain can be treated with Motrin or in severe cases, a mild muscle relaxant. You can always try gargling with chloroseptic OTC. Good luck and feel better! ...Read more

Medication reaction? Extremely high bp with crying. Strong pulses in head that made me cough and have dry heaves. Vomit 3rd. Started lamictal ystrday

Possible!: Up to 20% of people can can have nausea &vomiting and that alone could cause the high blood pressure as part of the stress reaction. I don't know if you took your blood pressure, but symptoms of headache or migraine may also occur. Although it can happen high BP itself is very uncommon, though. Call prescribing doc immed. Try 1/2 strength Gatoraide. If not able to take fluid go to ER. ...Read more

I have had a dry cough for 2 months it is very dry and making me heave very loudly no sputum or vomit comes just dry heaving. What could this be? I have had a chest x ray and bloods tested which was given the all clear. I've taken omprezole however did not

Could be GERD: The acronym we use is GERD, Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease. It is gastric acid from your stomach getting up and out into your esophagus. While omprezole is a good medication you might need another drug, It is also imperative that you should not lie down until two hours after eating and you should eat slowly, chew your food well and keep in frequent touch with your gastroenterologist. ...Read more

What reason could be for ALT 60; abs eosinophils 680; co2 31test results, symptoms - chest pain, chronic dry cough, left knee swollen & painful?

No easy answer: You're on Methotrexate and this itself may account for your elevated liver enzymes. The trivial elevation of your eosinophils isn't going to be helpful. If you're on this medication, it's likely to be for joint disease known best to you and your physician.
