I'm on flecainide 50mg bid. My symptoms seem worse since I started the med 5 days ago. My doc wants me to increase dose 100mg bid. What do you think?

Flecainide: We don't know enough about you out here to make a judgment. Without knowing more about you, why you're on flecainide and lots of other factors, about all we can say is. Flecainide 50mg BID is a low dose and 100mg BID is usually a lot more effective.....but dosing has to be judged by knowing the patient specific information. ...Read more

EKG and Flecanide: Flecanide will not cause Long QT but may manifest Brugada like EKG. Brugada EKG is Dynamic. i.e not present all the times but certain drugs like Flecanide may manifest it. It is true: removing the drug will correct the EKG, but in individuals who had Brugada like EKG on Flecanide and who are symptomatic with loss of consciousness etc. further testing for risk assessment is needed. ...Read more

No danger: Your sodium level is just one point below the lower limit of normal and that is not a dangerous situation. You may have just taken water before the test. ...Read more
