What Is The Maximum Dose Of Prenatal Vitamins I Can Take
What is on the label: Take what the manufacturer recommends. Vitamin a is a fat soluble vitamin and can build up to high levels. Babies need a certain amount of vitamin a, but not a high level, as it can cause birth defects. Also, read the labels of anti-aging creams you might have, as they usually contain retinoic acid or isotretinoin, which is vitamin a. Go over them with your ob/gyn. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Took an EPT and is positive. When should I start to take prenatal vitamins? Does it matter what brand of vitamins they are?
Any way: Chewables or tablet form, as long as you can tolerate taking the vitamins, that is what is important. Prenatal vitamins are SUPPLEMENTS to a healthy, well-balanced diet. In addition, if you are planning to conceive, best to start a prenatal or multivitamin supplement (extra folic acid) 2-3 months prior to conception and throughout the first trimester. Also look for the scientific name for the plant which is Hypericum perforatum, sometimes abbreviated H. perforatum. Best of luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Can't understand the lable of the prenatal vitamins. It say one tablet and one capsule daily. Does it mean I have to take 2at once or 1morning &1nigh?

If this is the case, it is best to take the tablet after breakfast (as thee b vits might keep you awake if you take at nite) & the capsule after dinner, as taking oil at the same time as minerals in the tablet might reduce absorption of both. ...Read more
Ideally with 5-MTHF: Most prenatals are fairly similar but there's a subtle yet important difference. About 30% of people can't convert Folic Acid to its active form, l-5-mthf, so to be on the safe side it's best to take one with that form like prenatal nutrients (pure encapsulations) , basic prenatal (thorne) or prenatal pro (designs for health). These also have biotin, which is important, & natural e, not synthetic. ...Read more
