Talk to your doctor : Avoid the use of narcotic analgesics. Consider an antidepressant such as Effexor (venlafaxine) or Cymbalta. Neurontin has helped in some cases. See a psychologist for therapy. Listen to relaxation CD's. Meditate, Swimming (shallow water), and Yoga may help. In severe cases, i have added a stimulant such as Ritalin or Adderall (last resort). Hope this helps. Interesting question: Hypothyroidism, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome all share similar symptoms, such as fatigue, depression and muscle pain. I would say many patients with uncontrolled hypothyroidism could have the same symptoms as patients with fibromyalgia and cfs. They could coexist.
