You can have clear: Liquids the day before unless advised otherwise. I tell my pts to drink a lot of fluids with the prep to keep flushing the colon. You can also have broth chick/beef and jello (avoid red). Solid food is not allowed. Colonoscopy : You will have multiple loose bowel movements that will eventually turn to clear. You may have soreness in the rectal area from the multiple bowel movements. When you go for the procedure itself , you should not feel anything. Afterwards the nurse will ask you to pass the gas that helped to inflate your colon and then they will send you home.
