Ear tubes in 9/2013. Still visually in the ear but not working like they did when initially inserted. How do I know if they're blocked/bad?

My 14month old is getting ear tubes & i'm worried about the anesthesia- she's tiny @ 20 lbs. Could she be allergic to the anesthesia? Is it risky?
No: Tubes provide a temporary solution that may help long term.If the Eustachian tube has failed for an extended period, the tubes can allow the middle ear to ventilate, permitting any chronic swelling to subside. During the initial procedure, thick mucoid debris is removed. Once the debris is gone, natural thinner middle ear mucous may drain appropriately. The tubes would no longer be needed. ...Read more
