Can you take extra strength tylenol (acetaminophen) while pregnant, two pills at a time? And what the regular dosage says?

Can you take extra strength tylenol (acetaminophen) while pregnant, two pills at a time? And what the regular dosage says?

Probably: Tylenol (acetaminophen) exposure is common in pregnancy but shouldn't involve more than the recommended dose. Toxicity of tylenol (acetaminophen) is easy so caution is warranted. There are some issues of tylenol (acetaminophen) use in pregnancy with blood pressure elevations and preterm labor as well. Isolated and irregular use is probably safe, but no medication can be presumed safe in pregnancy.

Pregnant 24/25 - can I take extra strength Tylenol? I would take 2 and they are 500 mg each.

Pregnant 24/25 - can I take extra strength Tylenol? I would take 2 and they are 500 mg each.

Safe in pregnancy: Tylenol is safe in pregnancy, up to 8 tabs a day of extra-strength 500 mg tabs. There could be other reasons, allergy to med, e.g., for which you should not. I would discuss with your doctor about the symptoms you are treating, and/or if you are taking the medication for more than a few weeks.

What type of Tylenol (acetaminophen) can I take if pregnant?

What type of Tylenol (acetaminophen) can I take if pregnant?

Usually: Dosages are recommended on the order of 325-650 mg at a time up to every four hours, with a maximum dosage of less than 4000 mg (or 4 gm) per day. But more and more physicians are recommending less than 3000 mg per day to help protect your liver. In the end, dosages should be reviewed with your OB, as often physicians recommend slight differences based on his/her experiences. Good luck.

How much tylenol (acetaminophen) can I take while pregnant without hurting the baby? Like throughout the week...

Up to 4 gm daily.: The maximum recommended dose of Acetaminophen for adults including pregnant women is 4 grams daily, however most people find relief with 1-2 grams at the most. Please limit use to as few days as possible and see your doctor if you need it for more than 2-3 days at high doses, as prolonged use of high doses is toxic to your liver..
