I was getting dressed and I noticed this two bumps on the outside part of my vagina they hurt s little but I wasn't painful, could this be herpes?
Sores on vagina 4 or 6 at a time, small pits hurt. two weeks heal. Not herpes. 1doc exams says polysporin, other says group b strep no tests/exam..?
List is long: The differential diagnosis includes Behcet's, Lipschitz's, Crohn's, herpes, a bunch of others, and "idiopathic" aphthae. I never heard of strep B doing this, and shotgun treatment with polysporin doesn't clarify the cause. Herpes: It very well could be. I always advise adults that given the significant new information about herpes that they get the blood tests to see if they have indeed been exposed. If you were in my clinic i would put you on herpes medication to see if this heals you easily and stops the re-occurences. ...Read more

Herpes? Syphilis?: In sexually active people, herpes is the most common cause of genital ulcer, painful or not. Visual diagnosis is never sufficient; lab testing is always needed both to confirm herpes and learn virus type (HSV1 or 2), which makes a big difference in treatment, prevention, and transmission risk. Painless ulcer could be herpes or syphilis. See your doctor again, get tested for all STDs. Good luck! ...Read more

Tricky: dermatologic conditions are difficult when not seen. I can say that many herpes tests are not very good. The antibody test, and growing the virus could miss a large percent of the people with the virus. Looking for the particular viral DNA or protein are much better tests, but still have to get the right time when the virus is popping out or the test is negative (and sore lasts longer than virus) ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Could i get herpes if someone touched the sides of my vagina (flaps, so near my undie line) with their fingers?
I have 1 bump on my vagina. It's is painless. I tried to pop it and it bleed a little bit. Could this be herpes?
Unclear w/out Test: If it's a simple bump that didn't contain fluid or have a glassy appearance, it's most likely a blocked hair follicle/follicultis, but your suspicion for herpes is VERY POSSIBLE. Unfortunately the only way to know for sure is to get tested by a doctor. In the meantime, have a conversation with your partner about outbreaks and safe sex. HPV is also a possibility.
