What is the difference between ovulation and fertile days?

What is the difference between ovulation and fertile days?

Very little.: I suppose, technically speaking, ovulation is a single even that happens when the egg is released from the ovary. Then, you have about 5 days that follow after ovulation when you are most fertile. If you have a period cycle of about 28 days, ovulation is usually around day 14. Making days 14 - 20 your "fertile days." this is important if you are trying to conceive. ...Read more

I had three +ovulation predictors on cd15/16/17 then a - on cd18. Suppose to predict 4 most fertile days. Does the - mean i've already ovulated?

Probably: This doesn't sound abnormal - or worrisome - to me. The idea of "4 fertile days" is not really biologically correct; the opk are somewhat misleading in that they have "dumbed down" the fertility concept. If you had 3 + in a row, then a - sounds like your ovulation happened and was detected. ...Read more

Why does the clear blue ovulation predictor sticks only show me ovulating one day of the month when it says it will show u the 2 most fertile days?

Often positive 1 day: Ovulation predictors show the hormone surge in the urine that triggers ovulation and that surge lasts less than a day. When the predictor turns positive a woman will ovulate in 12-30 hours. So have sex that day and the next day. Those are the 2 most fertile days. You don't need to check a predictor any more that cycle once it turns positive. Hope this helps! ...Read more

My fertile days was supposed to between 7/3/2014 to 7/8/2014, but I check it with a digital ovulation predictor and till today 7/8 still negative,?

Wait it out: Although I don't know how this particular predictor is supposed to work, I don't place a great deal of faith in ANY method of ovulation prediction. Ovulation predictably occurs about 14 days before your period, so once your period comes you can look back and figure out ovulation. You will then have a better idea if your digital predictor is of much use. ...Read more

If one has a normal 28 day cycle, and ovulates regularly, what would be the fertile days?

If one has a normal 28 day cycle, and ovulates regularly, what would be the fertile days?

Midcycle: Ovulation will probably occur either on day 13, 14, or 15. I would suggest intercourse starting either on 12, 14, 16, 18 or 11, 13, 15, and 17. This regiment will ensure that sperm is in the reproductive track around the time of ovulation. ...Read more
