Colonoscopy 9 years ago .Marked turtuousity of the sigmoid and a redundant loop , scope could not be passed further. Any tec improvements last 9 years?
Possibly: Success of colonoscopy often related to degree of sedation for procedure. Also related to experience of colonoscopist . Flexible colonoscope usually employed to go around curves. Noninvasive virtual colonoscopy using ct and MRI but does not allow for therapeutic maneuvers such as polyp/tumour removal or biopsy nor visualization of lesions smaller than 5 millimeters. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Rectal sweating for 1yr. Be ts confirms
diverticula in sigmoid colon, colonoscopy shows no masses, blockages etc.Could it be
a helminthic condition?
Do you mean mucous?: Anal discharge is most likely proctitis, seborrhea or anal fissure. Have you been cleared of std? Helminthic infections usually do not have rectal discharge. A stool test for ova and parasites and blood work could rule out a parasitic infestation. Colonoscopy may well have identified them as well. ...Read more
Colonoscopy showed erythematous mucosa in sigmoid colon. Dr said it is probably from C.diff which I had about 5 months earlier. Should I be worried?
Any symptoms?: Do not be concerned about the finding you mentioned. If you do not have any symptoms, let it be. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. ...Read more
Would a colonoscopy note moderate diverticulosis in the sigmoid colon? And could this diverticular be causing obscure GI bleeding?
Had a colonoscopy 6 months ago pain in transcending and sigmoid and anal and rectum. Ct showed Diverticulosis. I also have a high ch50. Infection?
Can't be sure: Diverticulosis does not cause pain, but diverticulitis would (leaking of intestinal content internally). High CH50 means that the "classic and terminal" features of the complement system (innate arm of the immune system) are working beautifully. Low CH50 might be noteworthy, but usually this only occurs when the system needs to be replenished after an illness. Need much more info to address pain. ...Read more

Sounds complicated: Given your history, it sounds very complicated! recovering from a perforated colon, a colonoscopy is good to help get answers. There are very advanced docs who do colonoscopies with special equipment. It might be worth getting a referral to someone with more specialized training and tools who can try to navigate. ...Read more

Had diverticulitis in June and just had colonoscopy today. Paper says I have Erythematosus mucosa.in sigmoid. A biopsy was done. IS this something that occurs when you get diverticulitis?
Is this UC? Colonoscopy report: PR normal. Granular mucosa in the rectum & sigmoid (reduced vascular pattern). Subtle rectal & sigmoid inflammation.
Sigmoid mass palpable every morning. The physician told me no need to make a colonoscopy cause i am young and this mass could be stool. Is that right?
How do: you know the mass is related to the sigmoid? There are other potential causes of intraabdominal masses....a sigmoid mass would have to be very large to be palpated. If further work up is warranted, a CT scan may be the next imaging step. Whatever your age, a palpable mass needs to be evaluated. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
