Soft stool...Well my baby is 2 weeks old as of today and every pamper i change is with stool and it is kinda watery and pass a lot of gass is that norm?

Other Sx ???: The breast fed baby can have a small watery smear of poo every feeding or a giant crib filler poo every 7-10 days & be normal. If all of babies stools have been a bit watery but baby is feeding well & acting ok, i would just monitor the situation. Formula fed kids seem to firm up sooner than breast. ...Read more

What is the difference between a"hard stool"and A"normal stool"?Can you have a normal stool that anal stings off & on with little water and little fib

?question: Not sure exactly what you are asking here, but a hard vs. soft stool refers to the consistency of the stool. If hard, it can cause irritation and pain as it stretches the anus, whereas a soft stool can be malleable and the shape will change as it passes through the anal opening not hurting. Appropriate fluid/water intake is essential to a well made stool, and fiber helps regulate you too. ...Read more

Does blood in the feces is a serious problem? My friend had a rectal bleeding for the few 4 days in a soft feces without any pain.

Does blood in the feces is a serious problem? My friend had a rectal bleeding for the few 4 days in a soft feces without any pain.

Could be serious: Blood in the stool should never be ignored. While it is most likely from hemorrhoids if she is the same age as you, there are other causes that are more serious, such as colitis, stomach irritation, infection, and even cancer or lymphoma. I recommend she have it looked by a doctor, since it has been persistent for 4 days. ...Read more

What could cause a whitish-green stool? Earlier i passed a whitish-green stool and in the same movement had normal brown stool. What's going on?

What you ate,,: Whatever you ate is the likely cause of your abnormal colored stool. Sometimes if you had a lot of vegetables or fatty foods, it changes the way your stool looks. Fatty foods can make it look lighter in color while red meat may make it darker. Different vegetables can make it look greener. Without any health issues and being that you're young it's likely ok. See your dr. If still concerned. ...Read more

What causes green stool? It is a dark green like an olive green stool no diarrhea what does it indicate?

What causes green stool? It is a dark green like an olive green stool no diarrhea what does it indicate?

Normal: Bile changes color as it travels through the intestine. The color generally goes from yellow to green to brown. Green stool usually is that way because it has spent less time in the intestines. Because bacteria in the intestines are responsible for the changing color of the bile, a change in the bacterial population (such as after antibiotics) can also result in changes in stool color. ...Read more

Yellow liquid stools after eating.
Happening for a month on and off. Mucus present if stool is formed. R/T IBS or something more serious???

Mucus on stool: Mucus discharge occurs in up to 50% of patients with irritable bowel syndrome, with or without pain. Mucus may also be produced in response to partial obstruction, chronic constipation, rectal dysfunction, infection, & even from secretory villous tumors of the rectum. At the very least stool studies & probably a sigmoidoscopy should be considered, but a more extensive evaluation may be warranted. ...Read more

My son has a hemorrhoid and he is getting thin stool and slight diarrhea is that from the hemorrhoid?

No: Hemorrhoids don't cause diarrhea or thin stools. Assuming the slight change in bowel movement is temporary I wouldn't be concerned. But if persistent you need to discuss it with his physician. To read about hemorrhoids go to http://wb.md/1Jj80zo ...Read more

My stool is a light brown and very watery i have between 10 -15 minuets of straight watery stool. It is more watery then dihrea is this serious?

Watery diarrhea: In episodic diarrhea, the key thing, assuming there is no blood in the diarrhea, is the possibility of dehydration. If you have diarrhea such as this, it is important to drink lots of fluids to rehydrate yourself. Sometimes medication such as Lomotil (diphenoxylat and atropine) is useful to slow it down, although it is usually self-limited. See your doctor if it does not resolve in several days. Good luck. ...Read more

My continous 4-5 times stool passing from 2 week and black yellow mix type stool. What is the problem?

My continous 4-5 times stool passing from 2 week and black yellow mix type stool. What is the problem?

Diarrhea: Loose yellow, frequent stools could be from a viral gastrointestinal tract infection with subsequent irritable bowel. However black stool, if not from taking peptobismol, could indicate bleeding from high in the gi tract from gastritis or a peptic ulcer. I recommend seeing your physician who can perform a simple stool test in the office to check for occult blood. Follow a bland, low roughage diet ...Read more
