Hello what is the treatment for benign cocobacilli bacterial infection? It is a foul smell and vaginal itching and white discharge. Please help...

Is a yeast infection and vaginal fungal infection the same thing? If not, what is best treatment for fungal and what are its causes?
Yeast=fungus: Yeast is a fungus, by definition. Best treatment is to try to determine what may have provoked it? Changes in diet, sleep, stress, detergent, clothing, sex practices., etc. Second is otc anti-fungal like clotrimazole, Miconazole or any vaginal anti-fungal. If that doesn't work, then diflucan, (fluconazole) an oral pill. And lastly, elimination diet. A great book, the v book, goes into detail about yeast! ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
Yellow vaginal discharge no odor ...What can it be? Yeast infection? Or can it be the product of the UTI as well?
Depends: There are several conditions that can cause a yellow discharge, from the benign BV to trichomonas to gonorrhea. Each disease may be associated with an odor in particular, but none absolutely have to have an odor. I would see your OB gyn for further evaluation and appropriate treatment. ...Read more
For : For bacterial vaginosis you need to have an accurate diagnosis taken by a swab and culture. For chlamydia, usually Azithromycin is used, but doxycline can also be used. For gonorrhea suprax (cefixime) or Ceftriaxone can be used. The diagnosis is very important. If you have pain, fever, or vomiting then please be seen as an emergency. ...Read more
What are the causes of smelly vaginal discharge ..How would it treated? Its itchy...Sometimes there is a green or white discharge
Doctor can evaluate: A primary care doctor can evaluate to see if there is an overgrowth of unfriendly bacteria or too much yeast. An odor is often due to those causes, and may be associated with things that alter the ph (acidity) and change the natural environment inside the vagina (such as having sex and getting semen in there). ...Read more
Fluconazole/Diflucan: I would recommend fluconazole (Diflucan) by mouth. The standard treatment is a single oral dose of 150 mg and it is available OTC. Typical yeast creams and suppositories might work, but there is little experience with them for anal/rectal yeast. Oral treatment is best. If your diagnosis has not been professionally confirmed, that should be your next step, before self-treating. ...Read more
What treatment should be taken for overgrowth of bad bacteria in the vagina that cause bad odor.Is there any oral treatment.Could vaginal douche help?
Probably BV: Bacterial vaginosis is a common condition in women where the normal balance of bacteria in the vagina is disrupted and replaced by an overgrowth of certain bacteria. Bv is not a sexually transmitted disease. It causes vaginal discharge that is usually white or gray. Most complain of a fish-like odor noticed especially after intercourse. It is treated with metronidazole. ...Read more
Work at it...: First off, make sure your feet stay dry and clean. Wash between the toes each day and wear fresh socks. •acrylic cushion sock fabric maintains resiliency and provides a more natural yielding, forgiving, dynamic environment for the foot (like walking barefoot in grass or sand). •result: more protection, more comfort. Secondly, use drying agents directly on the foot, like certain-dry or drysol. ...Read more
What would possibly be the best medicine to cure the bad odor dischage of vagina, to forever get away?
UTI: Two different issues. Antibiotic therapy will be needed for both, but the choices of agents will differ. It will be more important to know exactly which organisms are responsible for the vaginal infection since these may vary with the type of infection the person has. This may also be true for UTI but doctors will generally treat this presumptively the first time. ...Read more

Not possible.: You will always have a small amount of the organism ( candida ) living on your skin surface. Normal skin bacteria compete with yeast and do not allow them to grow enough to cause an infection. However, when you take an antibiotic enough bacteria my be killed on the skin or in the vagina to allow the yeast to overgrow and cause an infection. ...Read more
Bladder infection: Foul-smelling urine can come from a bladder infection or even from certain foods that we eat. Stds do not usually effect the bladder and i wouldn't think they are responsible for the foul-smelling urine. More than likely it is from a bladder infection. Vaginal infections can sometimes have an odor as well and may be difficult to distinguish from odor caused by urine. ...Read more
Is a fishy smell only on your period normal or does it indicate an infection such as bacterial vaginosis?
Could be BV: It is possible to have an overgrowth of gardnerella (causative bacteria of bv) during the menses, which resolves afterward recurrently each cycle. The steep drop off of both Progesterone and estrogen can produce an environment more hospitable to gardnerella than during the other weeks of the cycle. Get checked for BV while not on period to see if treatment w antibiotics could be indicated. ...Read more
Boric Acid?: I would recommend the standard treatment of oral or vaginal flagyl. Intravaginal boric acid 600 mg at bed time provides symptomatic relief. The frequency can be gradually decreased to once or twice a week. You could try a probiotic preparation such as vsl #3 with 110 billion colonies of probiotic bacteria per capsule, but this therapy is unproven. ...Read more
