Maybe, maybe not: This can be a simple variation fro the normal based on complex genetic factors. It can also be a feature of in excess of 40 named syndromes or associations listed in "smith's recognizable patterns of human malformation" 7ed.2013.
No syndrome: There are no syndromes known to me where the only finding is one of small hands. I would ask your doctor to look you over closely for any other anatomic findings out of the norm. If you have no other findings on exam, then you have small hands and that's it. That can certainly happen and would be totally normal! !
What is says: Hands that are smaller than expected for a person's age and size
Nothing: If your hands are functionally normal. I wouldn't recommend anything.
Compare: Aside from comparing your hand size to a large number of others in the age group you are analyzing, there is likely no statistically significant information available to answer your question.See 1 more doctor answer
None: This is a common phenomenon in most cases.See 1 more doctor answer
Perhaps congenital: If they are truly smaller than small, my guess would be that something went wrong during the development of the hands in utero, which makes it congenital rather than hereditary.
Possible: Usually smaller hands than typical, will be associated with smaller than usual feet. But it certainly doesn't have to be. Now I have rather typical, perhaps somewhat larger than aveage, male foot size (10), but very large hands for a male, size 8-- the better to play those tough rachmaninoff reaches as a boy-:).
I have very small hands and thin wrists for a man. My 12 year old cousins have same sized hands as mine. What is my case?
Genetics: The size of our bones is largely determined by out genetics. If small hands is something that runs in your family then it is not surprising that you would have this. Remember it is not the size of your hands that is important but how you use them that counts. Be healthy.
It depends: Small hands can run in your family (check your parents and siblings) and be perfectly functional. Sometimes, small hand or fingers can be part of a syndrome or congenital hand difference. It's best to be evaluated by a hand specialist, especially if it's a child, if there is a concern.
Go for it: Nobody's got a perfect body -- not even the Hollywood studmuffins. You shouldn't have any trouble using today's machines.
I am an average height male with abnormally small hands. Are there any ways to grow my hands, possibly with the use of hgh?
Impossible: No. You are done growing. Hgh would not work this late in life.
I am male and 18, and I have small hands and short fingers. Is there anything I can do to make them bigger?
No: There is nothing you can do to make your hands and fingers bigger. Sorry.
