What Is The Best Treatment For Red Ear Drum
Red ear drum: It looks red when you look in the ear with an otoscope.
My 2 yr old woke up and has swollen, red, warm upper ear lobes. Doesn't seem to hurt. Any ideas on a cause and a treatment?
Possibly allergy: Since the redness and swelling involve both ear lobes, infection or cellulitis is less likely, unless there is reason to think otherwise. Allergy, possibly to something he consumed before going to bed or bug bites may cause such a reaction. If there are no bumps, and remains non tender without any systemic symptoms, I would try OTC anti allergy medicine and observe.
My 18 months old daughter has painful tender red swelling behind her rt ear lobe. Kindly tell me causes n treatment?
Likely infected: This could be a simple skin infection or an inflamed lymph node. In either case, an evaluation may be needed. In the short term you can apply moist heat to the area in the form of a heated compress several times a day. If it is a minor issue the body may heal itself. If it worsens it will need to be seen.
Red, hot ear at random times started 5 months back (2 weeks post neck spasm treatment) heat, emotion causes it, but mostly random. Which doc to show?
Ear infection: This can be easily addressed at an urgent care or emergency room. Please get checked there as soon as you can.
My 2 yr old woke up with swollen, red, warm upper ear lobe with no pain. Any ideas on cause and treatment?
Cool compress: Try a cool compress, some anti-histamines and Hydrocortisone cream.
8 month old took penicillin for 7 days for ear infection on 8 th day of treatment he had red spots on his body and backdid he have allergic reaction?
Maybe: This sounds like a delayed skin reaction to penicillin, it is not life threatening but my recur if penicillin is used again.
Try hydrogen peroxid: It is possible that impacted ear wax can cause blockage of the ear canal and occasionally tinnitus (ringing). If you can not afford to see a doctor, which, is truly the best thing you could do, then try 3% hydrogen peroxide 4 times a day for 7 days in the ear canal. This treatment should liquefy the wax and then gentle irrigation with warm water should help. Try emergency room doctor.
Where's the red?: The majority of ear infections children get will involve the middle ear. A doctor has to use an otoscope to diagnose them. The ear drum will be red and bulging with fluid behind it. The ear canal can also become infected, but still requires an otoscope to view. The ear lobe and auricle or visualised outside ear being red usually has nothing to do with the common ear infections seen in children.
Cerumen: You may consider an examination of your ear canals by a board certified otolaryngologist
Clogged ear, went to dr wednesday she said looked really red (ear infx). ear feels better better never used drop yet. Should I use drops? ?
If it has cleared: On its own, then no need to use antibiotic drops
My 2 year old son has intermittent bilateral bright red ear lobes that are very hot to the touch. Should I be concerned? A neighbor suggested htn?
Vasodilation: I do not know of any correlation between bright red ear lobes and hypertension. It sounds like he is having a transient vasodilation involving his ears lobes (blood flow gets increased to this area). If he really has no other symptoms, I would not be too concerned about it at this point.See 1 more doctor answer
I have a red ear when I get hot or my ear is knocked. It goes bright red and boiling. Also whenever my ears are hot a black discharge appears on them.
Don't know why: Your symptoms do not lead to an easy answer. Suggest ENT exam.
