Rx side effects: These are not unusual side effects of proton pump inhibitors. How were you diagnosed with H. pylori? stool antigen or EGD in presence of an ulcer. The nexium is part of the therapy (approx. 14 days) for H. pylori. It would be reasonable to take yourself off of it for a few days or take a 1/2 dose. A burning problem: the tx for Hpylori is good if taken as given. It can recur. also should be refraining from anti inflammatory meds (prescribed or OTC), ie. motrin, ibuprofen, aleve (naproxen). no caffiene, no alcohol. if still problem consider having doctor order a fasting gastrin level. this is hormone that makes acid in stomach. when high persistent GERD/peptic ulcer problems can happen. good luck. ...Read more

Acid reflux: GERD can be worsened by weight gain, so losing the excess weight would be helpful. I would recommend that you avoid any particular foods which give you problems, particularly tomatoes,onions, orange juice, and citrus fruits. Tobacco and alcohol also contribute.
