What Is The Best Treatment For Dry Cough
Ive been travelling in europe for the last 3 weeks. Dry cough for the last 1.5 weeks. Nausea and vomiting lately, esp after eating and at night. ?
Probably allergy: Nahsea and vomiting can be from a virus you may have picked up during less than ideal hygienic condition surrounding food and beverages consumed whike traveling. OTC meds may suffice for now but if you experience fever and diarrhea, or a rash appears, pl. consult a physician for proper diagnosis and treatment needed. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

You can always consider a trial of allergy or reflux medication, but the better bet is see your doctor. ...Read more

Post-viral: Sometimes a cough may linger for weeks after flu or a viral infection but one needs to rule out infection-triggered asthma or a sinus infection also. Since winter mom has had dry cough to point hard to breath and loses voice- chest xray negative- breathing treatments in ER work- had now for 3 months, could something serious be wrong?
Consider a few..: I see this frequently in the rough winters where i practice. Many older people become more sensitive to the cold temperatures, causing bronchospasm in the lungs and therefore coughing when exposed to the cold. Also, the extreme dryness of the air can contribute to this and cause more coughing. Try a cool air humidifier in the rooms she is inhabiting. These are a couple of possibilities to consider. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Etiology: A dry cough can be caused by a number of diseases including viral infection, allergy, asthma, or physical changes in the environment.
