What is the best time to take 81mg. Aspirin or baby aspirin to avoid another tia?

Same time: Due to aspirin's effects on the platelets, as long as you take it at a similar time each day, the particular time of day does not have such a great impact. Control of other risk factors such as smoking cesstion and blood pressure control will also be expected to significantly impact the likelihood of future tia/stroke events.

What time of the day is best to take a baby aspirin for heart health purposes?

What time of the day is best to take a baby aspirin for heart health purposes?

Glad you asked!: Aspirin irreversibly binds platelets for the life of the platelet (which is 10 days). Every day, our bodies make new platelets replacing the 10% that is lost. When you take one single aspirin, you have an antiplatelet ("blood thinning") effect that lasts at least 5 days (50% of your circulating platelets). Bottom line: it doesn't matter what time you take the aspirin. The effect lasts a long time.

Can I take 81 mg baby aspirin just 3 times a week and still get the heart benefit. What is the aspirin half life.?

Reduce bleeding.: When a patient on therapeutic Aspirin experiences excessive bleeding associated with minor trauma, we commonly reduce the dosing to every other day as a compromise, thereby shifting the risk/benefit ratio back to an acceptable level.

Was just given baby aspirin for first time in er. How long would it take for salicylate intolerance or pseudoanaphylaxis to present?

Was just given baby aspirin for first time in er. How long would it take for salicylate intolerance or pseudoanaphylaxis to present?

Stop: Please go see your family doctor. Do not take the Aspirin until you have been cleared by a physician who knows you well. I see nothing in your history that would have warranted an er visit. You have chronic medical problems and possibly some mental health issues that could be stress caused by these conditions. It is always best to keep this in the primary care medical clinic.

Could be: There are many possible explanations for a mild left-sided headache, some of which are trivial and some of which can be serious. If you have any other symptoms such as dizziness, visual symptoms, difficulty with speech or balance you should see your doctor as soon as possible. Sometimes a localized headache can come before you develop shingles there.

Not standard of care: Autoimmune hepatitis is treated with immunosuppressive medications including steroids or azathioprine. Aspirin is not treatment for aih and there is no evidence that using it either with or without pregnancy has any beneficial effect on the natural course of this disease. You should be followed closely by a gastroenterologist during your pregnancy to ensure that the disease remains under control.

See: See the link below and quotation of the executive writing committee of the american heart association feb 16, 2011. "aspirin therapy can be useful in women > or = 65 years of age (81 mg daily or 100 mg every other day) if blood pressure is contolled and benefit for ischemic stroke and mi (heart attack) prevention is likely to outweigh risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and hemorrhagic stroke, and may be reasonable for women <65 years of age for ischemic stroke prevention." also, see the mayo clinic letter explanation regarding this subject. Anti platelets: The anti platelets are effective in managing tia. A daily dose is desired, however every other day is still protective, especially if you bleed. It is important to get all your risk factors under control to lower your stroke risk. Nicotine cessation, hypertension control, lipid control, diabetes control and ultrasound to look for neck artery plaque. Be well.

I am taking 81mg baby aspirin for a tia, is it safe to take 81mg every other day?

Recommend daily use: Why do you want to reduce the aspirin from daily to every other day? I would recommend if you are hoping to prevent a TIA that you take it every day
