Combined OCP: There is not a great answer to this question. Many types of ocp's can be helpful in preventing large cysts from forming. However, this is not a fool proof treatment either. Many people will still develop cysts. I would recommend trying any combined tri or mono-phasic pill either to a cyclic fashion (monthly or quarterly periods) or in a continuous fashion (skipping periods) to see what works for u. ...Read more

If the cyst is small, your physician may elect to follow it with sequential ultrasounds. Endometriosis also increases your risk slightly for a specific type of ovarian cancer.
