Indicated?: I don't tend to prescribe Prednisolone for cough (except asthma exacerbation), but I have not examined your child. It is OK to give an 18mo Prednisolone but I am not sure I would say it is indicated in this case.

Could dexamethasone sodium phosphate be used as a muscle building steroid?

Could dexamethasone sodium phosphate be used as a muscle building steroid?

Just the opposite: Dexamethasone is not an anabolic steroid. Taking it without a doctor's prescription will cause serious health problems, including cushing's syndrome. The person will gain abdominal weight, lose muscle from arms and legs, the immune system may become suppressed. Etc. Not desirable. Patients taking this drug do so for other health problems and also deal with some side effects.

Colonoscopy next week. I was prescribed sodium phosphate. Safe to use when I have Iga-nephropathy (normal kidney function) and I am taking enalapril?

Colonoscopy next week. I was prescribed sodium phosphate. Safe to use when I have Iga-nephropathy (normal kidney function) and I am taking enalapril?

Phosphate laxative: Phosphate laxatives are generally not safe with any kidney disease, although your status of normal function is reassuring. Phosphate can surge in excess and crystallize in kidneys that are inflamed. Seek a different laxative. And, be sure you remain well hydrated as you prep for the colonoscopy. Dehydration is a major threat to your kidneys, too.
