Does the consistency and colour of the semen have anything to do with how healthy your sperm is? Had inflammation, it's not as thick and white anymore!
Not directly: Normal semen is whitish to whitish-grey color. As men age semen may take on a yellowish tinge. Most changes in semen color and consistency are temporary and usually return to normal in 2-3 weeks. Yellow semen can be caused by: not having ejaculated in a long time, diet high in sulfur, urine in semen, prostate or STD infection (semen often will have a foul odor)SEE>. http://bit. Here are some...: The normal reference parameter for "normal" semen includes, not limit to, as follows: Vol -1.5-4 cc; total count - 40 million / ejaculate & 16 million / cc; mobility - 60% with active progression of 30%, etc. More detail? What color then?: Sperm is microscopic, so I'm assuming you're referring to your semen (the liquid that sperm is mixed in when you ejaculate). Semen can be yellowish or grey. If it's red, green, or other colors, that may be abnormal and should be investigated. I hope this helps!See 1 more doctor answer
Normal Appearance: Normal seminal fluid appears whitish to pearly opalescent. The amount that is produced with ejaculation may vary from day to day, though its consistency is typically thicker than mucus from a runny nose. If you've noticed a change in the color, quality or amount of semen you are producing, it's wise to make an appointment to see your doctor.
Its complicated: Hyperviscosity of semen is assessed on semen analysis 30 to 60 minutes after it is produced. After it liquifies, kind of like the opposite of epoxy glue where two liquids become solid, if the semen pours too thick then the viscosity is elevated. This is very rare, often misdiagnosed and may be due to the absence of certain enzymes in the semen.
Not sure: I assume that you mean semen and not sperm. Sperm are the little microscopic tadpole looking buggers that swim around. If you think he has chunky sperm then you would have to be looking at it under a microscope. Following ejaculation the semen does thicken and then after about 30-60 minutes it liquifies. He could get a semen analysis to check it out.
Normal#/abnormal spa: Would check for other causes of abnormal sperm development - eg varicocele......
Normal: Normal is 40 to 300. Over 20 is considered OK.

My sperm technically fall within the "normal" range, but are they really for my age? 22. 30 million 70% motil. 7% morph. Seems very low for healthy 22?
Sounds fine: Old numbers may have been higher because of longer abstinence.
Possible causes of bloody sperm in young male? No other symptm Had hemturia few mnths ago (all tests normal, no cause found Possibly same cause of both?
Yes, but...: Semen naturally liquefies usually within 30 minutes so to allow sperms to swim hopefully in & up through cervix, uterus, & to Fallopian tube to fertilize a timely waiting egg. But sperms comprises less than 1-2% of the volume of semen so naturally most of liquefied semen will timely flow out of the vagina. That is normal and natural.
Semen analysis: Semen analysis is not a test of fertility rather an evaluation of production of sperm. Even with slight abnormalities fertility may not necessarily be affected. I'm assuming the numbers you are referring to pertain to morphology. If that is the case, those numbers are fine. The remaining numbers referring to count and motility are also important for full assessment.See 1 more doctor answer
