What Is My T9 Spine
I have 6 hemangiomas in my spine. The one at t9 is invasive covering over 99% of my disk. Should I get anything done to it. I get mixed answers. ?
Mri of t spine yesterday. Show mild disc height loss at t9-t10. Sm schmorl node involving inferior veterbel body. Warrant pain under right shoulder?
Not likely: This level (t9-10) would tend to give pain a little lower than that. Look at this map, it shows you where the nerves "hook" to in the skin. http://www.backpain-guide.com/chapter_fig_folders/ch06_path_folder/ch06_images/06-4%20radiculopathy.jpg. ...Read more
8 year old begin complaining of back pain and xray shows 11 degrees of levoscoliosis of thoracolumbar spine from approximately T9 through L3?
Cause or effect ??: Mild scoliosis as described will not generally cause pain. However, pain can cause a kid to splint or twist toward the direction of pain & produce an x-ray with that appearance. A history and exam could better reveal the importance of this finding. If it is true scoliosis at 8 it is worrisome as it usually worsens in the pre-teen/teen years if it is not treated. ...Read more
Had CT of spine noted lesion at t9 so had MRI w/o contrast now they want to repeat study w/ contrast and do MRI of my brain. Why might they do this?
Additional locales: Whenever an imaging study is done on a part of the body and then a repeat study is requested to be done on another part of the body there is usually a suspicion that additional lesions or entities that were found on the screening study can be found elsewhere. The physician who ordered the study in the first place would be your best resource to find out the exact answer. ...Read more
Lots of pain in T10-12 in back and rib next to spine when inhaling and any slightest movement. CT bilateral nueral foraminal stenosis at T9-10. ?
Constriction.: Your condition may constrict the passages of the right and left T9 nerve roots. This may be the cause of your symptoms. Conservative measures are best recommended for this condition in the thoracic spine. Other considerations include local tissue reactions, discogenic pain, spasms, myofascial pain, circulatory issues, "facet" syndrome, and ligament, muscle and other soft tissue problems. See osteopathic dr: It never hurts to get a second opinion with an osteopathic physician, who commonly sees spinal conditions requiring pain management, especially if it involves chronic back pain, and history of syringomelia. Since you didn't state the age of your son, the management will be different depending on the age of the child, or teenager. Do keep that in mind. ...Read more

Need more info: This is a question that will be better answered with further clarification of spine imaging details - where exactly is this mass at T9 - inside the spinal cord, inside the vertebral column, on top of the spinal cord, is it enhancing with contrast etc etc. Some masses are clinically benign like hemangiomas inside the vertebra, some are less benign causing symptoms like spine tumors, hematomas, AVMs ...Read more

Mid up back pain under rt shoulder for many months. Ct of chest clear. I do have cervical steonosis and disc ht loss at t9-10. What could cause pain?
Pain in Mid Back: Can indeed be coming directly via a nerve from the degenerated level at t9-10, however, most patients have 'peri-scapular' pain, or pain around and under the shoulderblade from cervical degeneration and facet problems in the neck. Sometimes even due to referred pain from nerve impingement in the neck. Find a good orthopaedic spine surgeon to evaluate you and find the cause. Good luck! ...Read more
My thoracic MRI shows protruding disc impinging and flattening the left ventral cord with diffuse spinal atrophy from T4 - t9. I have upper-mid back pain, cannot sit. What does MRI indicate?
Back Pain: This sounds like a herniated disc and/or degenerative disc disease which can cause severe back pain especially while sitting. This is more common in the lumbar spine but can be present anywhere in the spine. You should definitely have your MRI looked at by a spine specialist. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
